toldfield Posted July 3, 2024 Posted July 3, 2024 I didn't see anything on the NJMP site, but the NJ laws they referenced only mentioned 38.1 certification.

Lodging is already booked so I'm committed. Just looked at the time stamp on my belts. Not going for the last 2 years made it a time warp. Date is 2022. Glad I looked early. Time to source something.
CarlB Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 I have been looking at head and neck restraints and finally concluded the Simpson Hybrid is what I think I want. There is a company local to me that sells a number of brands and I plan to go try the different ones. The Simpson is interesting to me because it seems to offer a little more side protection, although I do not have empirical data.
DatsunRBZ Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 Unfortunately I am not going to be able to make it this year, and likely next year too, as I am living down in the Louisiana bayou for the next 2 years. Hopefully I will return to the East coast after that and will get to rejoin the fun in 2026. In an effort to support the event and it's existence in 2 years, I will send some custom laser engraved "7 swag" to Mike or Tom for them to hand out to the participates. Who doesn't love a 7 key chain/iron on patch with a side of track day fun, cars, and people!!! 6

Now looking whether or not I can recert my Luke belts or find some other option that's not gaudy yellow

CBuff Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 I had the same issue with the yellow Schroth stitching and tagging. They do offer pads in a couple different color combos. I asked if they would throw the pads in after I ordered two full harness and lots of hardware. (They said no). but I do like the pads and the color (matches the grey stripe on the car and rollbar). https://www.hmsmotorsport.com/item/competition-harness-pads-(3inch)/accessories-harnesses

It stopped doing that quite a while ago.

Not a problem for road obviously.

CarlB Posted July 10, 2024 Posted July 10, 2024 The belts you want need bolt in lap belts. The isn't room for clip in lap belts. Racequip makes them and they are available in black. Schroth makes them as well. I am not sure about other brands.

No good deed goes unpunished Booked all the way back in February. Nice and early for a Villa Just got a notification that the Villa is sold and my reservation is cancelled. They said they have no more Villas for rent at all as they are all sold without owners wanting to rent. Luckily was able to rebook on the VIP suite on the straightaway. Not ideal with the family but butter than hotel offtrack. Both days events being on Thunderbolt make it convenient to run back as needed.
CBuff Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 I have a vip room at the track as well which I plan on using. I also made a reservation at holiday inn express in Vineland that I can hold till 24 hrs prior. Figured I would just hold it if anyone needed it. Happy to give it up if things get booked. 1

If you need a quieter place than the pits then use my garage loft during the day. It does have a tv and internet and beer. 1
