Carz01 Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 Well, that’s an interesting question. I started with Mothers but that didn’t provide the results I was looking for. After lots of trial products, I landed on Wolfgang Metal Polishing System, basically a corse, medium and fine polish system. It has a sealant as well. This was the only multi part system I found, and I’m happy so far. The corse did a great job tackling the heavy oxidation and letting the medium and fine do their job. it looks good, but I want to work on the finish a bit more.
Austin David Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 having gotten it where you want it, how long before you have to go back to re-polish? is this like an annual medium/fine project, or can you keep it washed and waxed / coated, and go a couple years between applications?
Carz01 Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 I finished the polishing a few months ago and it still looks great. I want to get it a bit nicer, then think annual touch up as needed. i always keep it covered so i think that helps as well
TN_Scooter Posted October 19, 2025 Posted October 19, 2025 Enjoyed some back roads in middle Tennessee. If you are ever find yourself near Normandy, TN, check at the George Dickel distillery in Cascade Hollow. Free samples and tours, might even get my brother as a tour guide! 3 1

Xhilr8n Posted November 6, 2025 Author Posted November 6, 2025 OK I don’t know who took this pic but I did find it today, from a meet last month. Local Cars and Coffee advertising for our next get together. 2

CarlB Posted November 7, 2025 Posted November 7, 2025 Not as much fun as driving, but I do like working on my car. Time to start the winter work. The only thing remaining to come off is the cage and cowl. 1 2

CarlB Posted November 8, 2025 Posted November 8, 2025 What you circled are the supply and return fuel lines. When you pull the engine you need all the room you can get at the top of the transmission tunnel. And moving the fuel lines cleaned up an area with lots of electrical connections. When you do this you need to build a cover to separate the fuel lines from the passenger compartment. Some sanctioning bodies allow Goodrich hose and fittings can be used in the passenger compartment, but the SCCA doesn’t. 1

hahuang65 Posted November 9, 2025 Posted November 9, 2025 A visit to the grocery store. A little girl and her mom ran up and asked to take a picture next to the car! 2 1
Xhilr8n Posted November 11, 2025 Author Posted November 11, 2025 Timely my order from Soft Bits arrived today. Fits great, simple enough to install (not quite completed, it’s late). Took a few months, cost 25% more due to geopolitics than when the order was placed but certainly no fault of the fellows at Soft Bits. Overall this is a nice thing to have. First snow of season this evening. 22 degrees. No telling when the garage door will open again but we’re getting ready…. 2 1
