Weigh In...

I did a search for any threads we may have had about vehicle weight...and there were too many results to sort through as I'm rushing out the office door today...

But, I just wanted people to know that I had my car weighed and it came out to....

1280 llbs without driver but relatively full 55 liter (14 something gallons) tank of gas.

EDIT: This is with FIA bar, BTW.

The corner weight on my Caterham SV last summer was a relatively porky total of 1,338 lb with about 7 gallons of gas.

I've added about 25 lb to it over the winter with the FIA roll bar, Rhino liner under the fenders and on the rock shields and I am about to add about 14 lb for a new ECU and water injection system.

I'll post back next time I weigh it.

My standard sized Cat was 1225 lbs w/2 gallons of gas when weighed last summer. This was after I took out all that was removable: top, doors, tool kit, spare, etc.

I have since removed the 8 lb standard roll-over bar and replaced w/the 33 lb FIA bar, replaced the heavy, unreliable starter with a lighter, hopefully more reliable one.

So I am at abt 1250 lbs now I wld guess, in track form.

Al's fuel added about 80 lbs to his total, so his car is deserving of the name, Superlight.

I'll get mine in so I can trump everyone before the BEC guys show up. :jester:

I was 1152 when I weighed mine in the garage a couple of years ago (~1/4 tank of fuel)

Edit: and that was with spare tire and jack.

With a 185lb driver, mine came in at 1387 (642 front and 745 rear; 717 left and 670 right). That includes 48 lbs of fuel.

So excluding fuel and driver, the car weighs 1154 lbs.

I weight 255 in the winter and 235 in the summer.

My SR20DET powered Locost weighs 1131 with ~ 1/4 tank of fuel.

:ack: How much does the spare tire and jack weight ?

This could be close!

My locost replica 7 weight is 1149 with a full 6 gallon gas tank, no spare or tools. I tell everyone it weighs 1200 lbs with out me in the car when they ask. With me in the car it actually weighs 1369 full of gas (the car not me :jester: ) but again I tell them 1400 lbs. :D

My Ultralite NA was 1380 with 5 gal of gas. After it was supercharged with the liquid intercooler it changed to 1420.

Maybe Rdrkt will chime in with his XR7 I think it weighed 1096 before he added the dry sump system. I know he had to add some weight to meet class requirement for E mod.

I didn't weigh the jack, but from memory the spare was ~25lbs. Close indeed!

Birkin S3 is 1320 lbs with half tank, tall/upgraded roll bar, rather heavy Cobra Seven seats (20 lbs each!) and 18 lbs of sump armor, no driver. Wheels are ACB10 and RealWheel lightweight rims. I guess in natural state it would be closer to 1250 lbs.
