JohnCh
Oh my, this is…interesting. Pictures and verbiage shamelessly stolen from this Autocar article on the Tokyo Auto Salon. RE-Amemiya Westfield Stunning is one way to describe this rotary-engined Westfield, put together by longtime rotary customiser in Japan, RE-Amemiya. It has Mazda’s 13B twin rotor engine but the samurai paint work and finish are just something else, are they not? A real Japanese specialty. http://media.autocar.co.uk//NonCar/1811010113830740234x155.jpg http://cdn.images.autocar.co.uk/612x408FFFFFFF/NonCar/1811010113831841600x1060.jpg -John
Spaz
I really like some of this car. The nose looks very F1. Wow the front fender are huge! I am not going to say anything about the rear http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_yzb91PHHy60/S1JsTrMU2eI/AAAAAAAANL4/khoisrI-tFI/s1600/RE-Xtreme_TAS_2010_TT3.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_yzb91PHHy60/S1Hf6cgiRwI/AAAAAAAANJw/NY_9ireRL2I/s1600/RE-Xtreme_TAS_2010_T30.jpg http://ll.speedhunters.com/u/f/eagames/NFS/speedhunters.com/Images/Dino%20Dalle%20Carbonare/2010/January/TAS-2-Rotaries/TAS2010-0043.jpg Edited January 20, 2010 by Spaz

yellowss7
So much for adding lightness. that rear end is an abomanation. I like the nosecone and front aero and that's it. Tom
southwind25
the light pods and nose are kinda nice....(nose looks like an old indy car or something) the rest is... uhh.. well.. it just looks so wrong. a bad mix of old and new... with that rear wing sorta like a kiddy cart you see someone pushing around at wal mart thats supposed to look like a car.. JohnCh
Someone on the WSCC forum noted that the rear bears a striking resemblance to another well known transportation device http://wheels.ebay.it/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/vespa-200-rally.jpg -John

slngsht
I like the nose and headlight treatment too... that's about it.
Hyper
There are parts I like: nose, headlights, engine and even the front fenders are growing me. The bonnet is a mess, the stock windscreen doesn't fit in with the rest of the car and the back end is an unspeakable abomination. I wonder if you could get the nose and keep the stock Westfield for the rest. I also wonder about the usefulness. The turn lamps wouldn't meet DOT requirements and the front fenders seem like they'd rub the body. I would have liked to see them go with an enclosed canopy or completely windscreen-less. It could have looked like a cooler version of the Donkervoort D8 GT
Mondo
I like the front, the side pod vents and the headlights are ok (the only aero headlights I've seen look good are on a Prowler in my opinion). I don't think anyone likes the rear fenders. But there are some high HP guys looking for downforce (Kevin and his Mojita for example) and a rear wing like that might work nicely if it incorporated the roll bar too... better than the dirt midget look. S1Steve
I think it may be more fun to drive, then I won't see the back end.
TheDingo8MyBaby
Anyone else find it a bit funny that they did all that aero work, only to leave the dampers and springs out in the wind?
11Budlite
I don't know what to think about this one. Some of it seems to work and I think it would look better without the wacky paint job. When I first saw it I thought it could have been a futuristic update of a Lotus MKVI!
jimrankin
First thing I would do is take off the rear view mirrors so I wouldn't have to see anything from the windshield back when I was in it.

supersportsp
Some questionable aero implementation here. Is it me, or does that front wing divert air directly into the jumble of suspension bits?

manik
I would like to point out that this Japanese example is *not* an official Westfield design. RE Amemiya made it. JohnCh
I've found some other photos online and based on an interior shot, it's clear that this is based on an older car. Somewhere around 2000 Westfield changed the dash side of the scuttle; this car has the older design. -John
