What did you go through?

Apex, over the years, the Mineharts and I have had our differences, but it was never anything we couldn’t work out (been a Stalker owner since 2006). As for specifics, that’s between the Mineharts and myself. The Seven crowd is already a small group. Tossing a manufacturer further under the bus only weakens an already small community, not to mention the disservice it does to current Stalker owners.

I'm glad you were able to work things out for however you were wronged, it's been months for me and at some point you have to change directions. It's not like I made a thread detailing every bad experience I had and every negative thing I know. You call it "throwing under the bus" I call it following full disclosure law, which I would be a fool not to in a sale that is going to be scrutinized closely by a judge.

I'm sorry you seem to think this will negatively impact you, I can understand that frustration. Personally I would never try to compel an aggrieved parties silence for my own benefit or hold any animosity toward them for telling the truth. I would also suggest to you that transparency strengthens a community not weakens it, and that concealment certainly weakens it. For instance, if I was aware of your negative experiences maybe I would have gone for a caterham instead, and been a happy new member of the community instead of disgruntled member trying to leave it behind. I wish you luck.

I bought https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1997-caterham-caterham-seven-super-sprint/. She arrived last week. I had her out for a spin but it was only 41 and after 20 years in TN my blood has thinned and I cut the ride short after only 20 min. I should have worn my cycle gear. She runs great, everything I had hoped for. My first 7. I grew up with MGAs, MGBs, TRs, Morgens and Jags. Now I have a Ferrari 308, a Ducati ST3 and a 2016 Miata daily driver as well as the 7. With my wife's Nautilus, my garage overfloweth.

I like your style in cars - what year/model on the 308? I have a soft spot for those.

Have you thought about selling your wife on the health benefits of exercise in a cooler, maybe open, outside environment? Nautilus machines (and wives) do not rust do they? Empty garage space then for you to add another? Just a thought....

Pretty much identical to mine. Same color scheme, but mine is red, same year and same model (Super Sprint 1700). Do you know where it was assembled?

The Nautilus is a Lincoln Nautilus, her baby. back in 2007, I sold the last of my Jags, a 1959 XK 150-S. I bought her in the Boston area where were were were living for $2K and spent 12 years rebuilding her. She sold for $25K. I had intended to buy another E Type, but even rust-buckets were > $40K. My wife asked,"if money was no object..." and I told her that I had always loved 308's even before Magnum PI. I found one on Long Island that needed work. Enclosed is a picIMG_0638.jpg Oh, the engine number on the new Cat indicates that it is a 31K95 AX.

My first Ferrari was a 308GTSi like yours about 30 years ago.

A project car that had the top sliced off to make a pure roadster.

These things are very tiny. Hard to tell from the pics.

About 200 EPA choked horsepower.

That didnt stop it from drinking fuel at 12 mpg :)

You know a lot of parts come from different manufacturers like the brakes are a Mercedes part.

Lots of good 308 content and tips at Ferrarichat.

I just don't worry about it. Didn't display one on the old Miata either. Our Texas cops do not seem to care. Bless them. Anyway, some tickets are just like a tax. If we enjoy the benefits, we shoould be willing to pay the tax. Plate ticket = tax on beauty. Speeding ticket = tax on speed. I just pay and go on.

Cops are very tolerant of cool cars. At least state troopers. I have been warned to cool it a couple of times without getting more than a gentle adminition. And that in a 2000's Boxster. A caterham is sure to get even better treatment.

I would like to compliment you, Croc. You are a busy man with significant professional endeavors, yet you faithfully search out and post the most comprehensive collection of Sevens I can find anywhere. Hemmings is a drop in your bucket of Seven goodies, and they're pretty good with rare cars. Aware as I am of the immense remuneration associated with this task, your results are even more wondrous. I hope to purchase another Seven soon, and I consult your work regularly. For all who have enjoyed the explosion of senses, the instantaneous reactions, the visceral impact that is otherwise known as piloting a Seven, I salute you. Please keep it up. You are doing more than you know for Seven ideology.

Limited experience with police so far in my 7 but I did get pulled over twice in one night within 3 miles.

Mind you at any point in time, my 7 is in violation of at least (inspection, exhaust, no front plate, no rear plate light) at any point in time.

Got pulled over for no lights on the rear plate. Told the cop cars like this come with certain limitations. He sympathised and wrote me for failing to notify dmv of change of address (was also true). Then when pulled over down the road they said they saw me take a turn a little too fast and were curious as to what car it was (during the night). Chatted for a bit and off I went.

Thank you Bruce. Coming from someone with such an eclectic background in past car ownership (like me) that counts for a lot.

Good luck finding your perfect seven later this year.

I concur and also give Croc endless kudos. I've been checking this list for probably 7 years now, before I was even in the market for a 7.

I'm just glad Croc is not TOO good at doing this, otherwise he would have spotted mine and it would have gotten snagged before I got to it :willy_nilly:
