I can't comment on the body condition other than to say Westfields are unpainted and put the color in the gelcoat. Painting the bonnet will never be a great match with the rest of the body unless you paint or wrap everything. Freshening the interior, however, should be viewed as an opportunity to make it yours. Cars from that era used very low quality carpet and handbrake/gearshift gators that unnecessarily cheapen the interior. It's not hard to change. Here are a couple of photos that show my Westfied when I bought it in 2001 and what it looks like today. That's not to say my aesthetic is the way to go, but simply that making changes is not that difficult and make a huge difference. There are also a lot of parts available in the UK to upgrade the suspension and brakes. Looks like caterham is similar to motorcycle/powersports/rv market. People are worried about economy and have restricted purchases. Seeing a lot of RHD imports here asking too much money. I've seen some of those cars on car and classic for 17k USD. Shipping etc to the US isn't 10k. Flippers are going to get greedy and cut their losses, which will hurt the legit owners. My uncle hosts a family crab feast every year and told me that this year, between the time he ordered the crabs and the time he picked them up, the price had dropped 30%. Agreed. 15k USD wont buy you a bare bones base spec 7 in the UK. Lowest I've seen is 13k GBP. That's just over 17k cash. Add 3k to get it over here, and then another 2.5k to take care of misc odds and ends (as the cheapest example of any car will need work), and you're at the price of a car over here or BaT. Cueball1 Posted September 7 Share Posted September 7 (edited) That car is near me. Going to try and see it in person. Toyota v8 motors are unbelievably durable and reliable. My 4.7l v8 lexus was only rated at 263 hp with 330lbs torque but didn't burn a drop of oil at 200k miles when I sold it. The 4l 1uz fe motor in this 7 is more performance oriented than in my suv, and should be closer to 300hp. Could be fun!
