So its 4am on a Saturday, snow is coming down and some blasted ship captain in the Hudson River better be sinking for all the horns he is sounding just offshore from my place.

Car shopping time! To clarify 2 PMs I got this week - no these are not my cars for sale. No I don't get a commission. No I am not related or affiliated with them. No I do not offer search services. I am just doing this because I cannot sleep in early mornings and checking out cars is more fun than the alternative of counting sheep, doing my tax return, working, contemplating my navel, etc.

In honor of the wonderful work done by John Ch this week when he discovered Mazda (Slngsht) had managed to do an anti-spam update that locked both him and I and quite a few others out of USA7s (dream come true for some I guess!), I want to feature a Westfield. And not just any Westfield but the famous one called Barney!

This fetching shade of purple is on a Westfield in Columbus OH on Fleabay with 2 days to run.

Rare Lotus Super Seven copy built by Bob Yarwood who imported the Westfields to the U.S. Titled as a 1965 Lotus. Over $30,000 in build receipts. Ford Cosworth engine with dual Weber carbs tuned to perfection. Under $4,000 miles, all weather equipment, beutiful rare sportscar! Any questions call Tom at 614-975-6996.

Current bid is $16000. The Q&A shows all the hallmarks of buyers with no idea what a seven is!

There is a lot of crap out there today in ad-land. There are so many Zimmers, Phillips, Excaliburs, Corsair, Tiffany, and other rolling POSs that it makes me wonder if there was a mass-extinction in Florida overnight? I had never heard of the term "neoclassic" as a class of auto until today!

Anyway, in honor of Xcarguy here is a link for him to go shopping. He needs a Zimmer!

Astrobob deserves a shout out with his ad - essentially brand new Brunton M Spec with LS V8 for $30k (price reduction this week). You cannot build it for anywhere close to this and you will turn most bowels into jelly and scare little old ladies at traffic lights and absolutely annihilate pretty much anything out there driving today.

Seems everyone slept in this morning....

Am a bit behind in my coffee intake this morning, slowly recovering from an apparent bout of food poisoning yesterday afternoon/evening. Had forgotten how miserable an experience that can be.....

Better now than over the July 4 weekend!

IF I were in the market, I'd be driving the M-Spec Storker home tomorrow. It can be had for $30K, that's almost stealing.... The original Lotus 7 is also pretty stunning, tho at the opposite end on the se7en spectrum. Hmmm, maybe I'd actually be driving the Lotus 7 home....? Fortunately, I am not in the market.

. . . . Anyway, in honor of Xcarguy here is a link for him to go shopping. He needs a Zimmer!

http://www.lancemotors.net . . . . .

I wonder if those Zimmer clams will fit my Storker. Tom, with his clam-cad Cat and big front fatties, has inispired me to new levels of irrationalism. :conehead:

I've seen this car up close and personal. Best bargain (absolute best bang for the buck) on the Storker market right now. Somebody with LS aspirations needs to be grabb'n the goods . . . . . . Klasik-69, are you still in the market for a Storker? You guys are both in sunny FL.

To be fair, Mazda deserves the credit for restoring service. I was simply the messenger, and Croc helped uncover that it wasn't just an issue on my end. Therefore, we should honor Mazda by featuring some Frankenstein creations for sale, and Croc by eschewing my weekly threat to ban him :)

John - You can still take Barney the Westfield posting as a token of my gratitude for restoring my access.

Mazda needs another Frankenseven.....hmmmm....

I got it! Calling Slngsht to the forum! Here it is - as the ad says, "17 feet and 3800 pounds of unique style and pleasurable driving"! Its called a "Johnson" for a reason. :willy_nilly:

http://www.higherturnover.com/images/vehicles/20080705/400/642440_1415064654_20.jpg

It has clams, a v8, "vogue tires" and more leather than is whipped at an S&M shop. It even comes with what looks like a banana chassis. I would like to see him auto crossing this! :ack:

Skip,

I know you know this, but for others: The car is a "Riley Nine" (think, Caterham Seven) and it is the "Speed Model" which means it has Brooklands windscreen and other modifcations. Really an interesting car, as the Riley Nine had a great success in racing "pre-war."

Hopefully he's doing something more productive, like working on the video from LAST year's 7s gathering.:rofl::rofl: I think Shane may have shamed him into it with his last posting. tom

Yep..........just maybe.:jester:

Actually I was on a flight to London that was turned back halfway there because of smoke in the cabin. Three hours back, another 5 hour wait and I got the next United Scarelines flight back to London for a door to door trip time of 25 hours. Now sitting in London feeling all discombobulated.

Fleabay has a BRG Stalker. It was up for sale for a while last year - guess it did not sell?

1964 Lotus Seven. This is the one that would not link last week, asking $60k. The dealer has a range of financing and leasing options! Leasing a Lotus Seven - LOL!

Miata Birkin in Honolulu back again $19k

http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/cto/4831652080.html

AstroBob's M Spec Stalker at the bargain of the year (so far) $30k

http://tallahassee.craigslist.org/cto/4832227021.html

A 1962 Stalker $28000

This is one of the many professionally designed replicas of the 1962 Lotus 7. The car was designed in Florida and is known as a 'Super Stalker' Frame was built in 2011 and car was assembled and completed in Arizona in 2012.

The Super Stalker uses an L32 motor which is supercharged and fuel injected. This car has been dyno'd to ensure tune and engine were performing as advertised. Horsepower is 260 and torque is 280 ft. lbs.

Car will be sold with many spare parts and a collection of tires and wheels. Wheels: 9 15x7 aluminum alloy wheels that have a set of street tires on 4 wheels. A set of high grip, DOT legal tires on 4 wheels. Then 1 extra wheel that has nothing on it. Also, with the car there is a set of 13" wheels. The fronts are 13x8 and the rears are 13x10. There is a set of Goodyear Eagle slicks mounted on these at the moment.

When full of fuel/water/oil and with no driver, the car weights 1,570 lbs. That gives the car a HP to weight ratio that is equal to or higher than many high end sports cars available on the market today. This Super Stalker has power steering and a 5 speed manual transmission. Driving the car feels and controls similar to other production model cars until you get on the throttle and feel the braking. This is a serious performance automobile.

Will consider partial trades, and I am open to many different types of things.

Ok....thats enough for now. Off to find a cup of tea and an egg and bacon butty at a local cafe.

It did get sold last fall, now the new owner is selling it. It was owned before by a guy named Robin that was a member in here that had moved to Canada, eh.

Croc, xcarguy and others, I put out the notification today that Bob L. has sent a deposit for the M-Spec Storker and will be down with a trailer in a couple of weeks for a final inspection. I want to thank all of my 7 brethren for the support and sharing of information as well as the positive things you had to say about the Stalker. I will continue to monitor this site even after the sale of the car because it is such a great group of 7 enthusiasts. For those in the Northeast, stay warm and Spring is just around the corner in spite of Punxsutawney Phil's predictions. Astro Bob
