  1. Scott, That car was nicely done. I remember the exceptionally nice paint job. Heck of a deal that includes the trailer. I know there was a lot more invested in the original build. Jack
  2. Hey Mike, Did Bluegrass have to finally file? I know we had a couple of SCCA club races scheduled with them last Summer but obviously that never happened. It did not look to promising for the future. Jack
  3. You might check out your local Tractor Supply or Farm and Fleet. They often have lighting to mounted on farm implements that may work for what you are trying to achieve. Jack
  4. Mazda, Thank God you are okay and I am really sorry about the damages to your car. After looking at the course design I have to ask if this was a SCCA sanctioned event? According to SCCA rules the course boundary shall not normally pass closer than 25 feet from solid objects (Rule 2.1C under Course Safety and Layout Rules). There is no question in my mind that you would not have had 25 feet on either side of any competitors car through that concrete curbed island. Then you had the additional potential problem with the light pole. No question in my mind that the accident could have been far worse and the "both feet in" rule may have save your life. Don't forget that any competitor has the right to question the safety of any course design and is encouraged to address their concern with the assigned Safety Steward or Stewards at any SCCA event. For the record, I have refused to run on courses that I did not feel was safe as recent as last April, 2010. Jack
  5. Russ Curtis Unlimited 707-443-8523 You have to call late in the evening. I think they are in CA. I personally know a number of people (including my son) that have ordered parts from them. They can make you a 10" wide front fender. They do not have a web site and you pay for them after you receive them and you are happy with the parts. My son said they are an absolute treat to deal with. Jack
  6. Tony, Get ahold of Graham Early in Bloomington, IL. His we site is http://www.earleymotorsports.com A great guy and has a beautiful Leitch Se7en that he built two or three years go. Graham is very familiar with the great blatting roads in central Illinois. Jack
  7. Width wise in the seating area about the same. Leg room length seems a bit longer in the Stalker. Footwell width in the SV may even be slightly less but it is hard to tell. The brake and clutch pedals are mounted on the floor in the Stalker and are suspended from the top on the SV. Jack

    New Build

Hey Shane, Glad to hear that you are back into the car building business. Keep us posted on your progress. Jack in Indy
  9. I cut my Spa center mount mirror stalk down. I can use the mirror with the Brooklands and the full screen. This is the convex mirror from Pegasus. here is the link to my Gallery page: http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=14397 Jack
  10. Gary, I gott'a start learning how to left foot brake... I know most all the fast guys have figured it out. Jack
  11. I wear a size 9 and can drive with sneakers or loafers for street use. I wear Puma Speed Cats for racing because I find it much more to my liking. Lots of room in the Stalker footwell. Many of the Stalker owners wear a size or two shoe size larger than than me and have no problem. Others with larger shoe sizes have co-driven my car in SCCA autocross without any trouble. Jack
  12. I have the Pegasus Center Stalk mirror with convex glass that you have referenced. You will not regret it. You can almost do away with side mount mirrors. I also have the Brooklands set up. Jack
  13. Dick Brink had a Brooklands mount on his Birkin. Not sure if he used a Cat part or if it was a Birkin supplied part. Jack
  14. Are you holding the camera or one of the kids? Project for this Winter...build a camera mount... :0) JB
  15. Many Se7en owners have been involved in the past at the annual Run N Gun events previously held at Gateway Intl Raceway near St. Louis and more recently in Hastings, NE. I just learned this evening that the organizers for the Run N Gun Kit Car events have passed the baton on to others. R N G has had a very successful 24 year run. Here is the letter that I received from Jim Woodsmall, president of Sugar Grove Custom Cars, one of this year's key sponsors of the event: From Clois Harlan 10/13/2010 Run N Gun Transition- After several years of being in charge of Run N Gun, Dean Lampe, Mat Twiehaus, Jay Nordstrom, and I have decided to pass the torch to George Anderson and his MPH staff. The bottom line is we are all tired! The planning and organizing of an event like Run N Gun takes a tremendous amount of time and resources. We believe we have done the best job we could as stewards of this 24 year old event and the time has come for some new ideas and energy to take Run N Gun to the next level. I hope the entire Kit Car Community will embrace and support the efforts of George Anderson and his team to put on the best Run N Gun event ever in 2011. The scheduled dates for the 2011 Run N Gun will be September 22-24, 2011. The event transition should be seamless since George was part of an earlier team that was in charge of Run N Gun 1999-2004. We hope we have not disappointed anyone over the past six years with our direction of the event. We honestly approached every aspect of this event with the majority of our participants’ best interest in mind. From the beginning we wanted a fun and safe event and on our watch we think we accomplished just that. Thank you all for your support and I trust you will continue to support Run N Gun through George Anderson’s leadership. As a closing note I want to thank the following people that have helped us over the years and NEVER expected any kind of recognition or consideration: My Wife-Sharon Harlan-The MOST organized part of every event who would pick me up and help me make it year after year. Honesty, integrity, and very accurate with those all important driver TIMES. Jay Nordstrom-The backbone of RNG over the years and also my sounding board Rick Lake-One of the hardest workers and best friends an event could ever have Hershel Byrd-Artist, designer, team player and a big part of Run N Gun for 20 of the last 24 years Lisa Lampe, Kim Nemitz, Mary Hughes, and others have played a supporting role over the past six years. Bill Frimpter-A real team person that is not only fair but a great guy David Nemitz-Always willing to lend a hand wherever needed Lew Payne-He loves to make margarita's and the first friend I made a Run N Gun back in 2000 Sincerely, Clois Harlan Dean Lampe Jay Nordstrom Mat Twiehaus
  16. I have attended LOG 25, in 2005 in St. Louis where we had a fairly good representation of LSISC. First place concours trophy that year for Replicas was a very nice Birken. I earned second place with my Stalker. Also attended LOG 28 in 2008 in Indy with concours first in the Replica awarded to a nicely done Westfield 11 replica. At LOG 28 Clive Chapman and Bob Dance both took autocross rides in a very well prepared SuperStalker and loved it. Clive's only comment was that he was going to do the driving next time. My wife and I felt very comfortable at both LOG events and had initially planned to attend both LOG 29 and LOG 30. As things worked out we were not able to attend either one. Sorry that many of you that have attended previous LOGs sensed any negative attitudes.
  17. Three 5/16" bolts hold the cone catcher/number plate to the car. Takes about 5 minutes to remove them for normal street driving.

    Car Update

Glenn, I really like the all bright white body work. Reminds me of Graem Gee's all white Caterham. Very tasteful with the dual black competition stripes. Did you fabricate the seats? Jack
  19. Here are the results of the most recent Run N Gun event held last week in Hastings, NE. Se7ens did very well. It would have been more interesting if Pete and Dennis had not had some mechanical issues that forced their early retirements.
  20. This is a news video from Hastings, NE regarding the 2010 RNG event. The first guy being interviewed is our buddy John Meyers who has the LS3 powered SuperStalker. This is a great event the use to be held at Gateway Intl near St. Louis, MO. Sounds like everyone really likes the new venue. http://www.khastv.com/sports/more-local-sports/Motor-Sports-Park-Hastings-gears-up-for-big-weekend-103750944.html Jack
  21. The yellow Se7en is not a Caterham. It is a Brunton Stalker. It does have an LS3 under the bonnet.
  22. might have to raise your rear ride height or change to heavier springs. I would check the ride height first.
  23. Dennis' email is coilovershocks@aol.com He can be very helpful in helping Se7ens owners/builders with their performance shocks and springs questions. He will need to know specifics on your car that will require measurements on your behalf to help select the correct front and rear shock/spring rate for what you are trying to achieve. Jack
  24. Hey Bryce, Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday in Helen. We will be arriving Saturday evening. Have a great trip. Can't wait to check out #81 and to meet you. Jack
  25. I am aware of one in Iowa. Jack
