1. Finally, day 88 or whatever:
2. Wow, even your battery has boobs! Too bad about the toe. But, exaggerate it a bit more and you can play hero tomorrow. The tape may not be good. When you to not need them, get some "butterfly bandages" for the first aid kit. Good news about the beer. Have fun tomorrow.
3. Hope it works as good as it looks. Good ideas for anyone contemplating a real seat. Just one thing. I thought surely you would have it covered in red antelope suede or blue nomex with piping and the a crest and your initials. Are you saving that for after you use and approve it?
4. Definitely polish and clean the seats (see above). It occasionally amazes me how much looking good affects buyers, when purely cosmetic and easily remedied. I certainly would not change the seats out. If the buyer does not like your new choice, it's wasted money, as others have said. A good detailer can work miracles. We sold a 30 that anyone would say needed a repaint. The detailer cost about $100 and easily added $10,000 to what we got. Get references and talk to a few.
5. Fear not! After it gets to Chicago, it MAY turn back west. Unless it goes to Atlanta.
6. Of course he thinks the original was perfect. It was his baby. Maybe it should be taken with a bit of salt. Chapman probably thought each design was perfect, but then he would change it, and change it again.
7. Just asked a 6 year old if he understands why there is no school. He said yes because they are out of toilet paper. After years of wanting to thoroughly clean my house but lacking the time, this week I discovered that wasn’t the reason. 2020 is a unique Leap Year. It has 29 days in February, 300 days in March & 5 years in April. Wearing a mask inside your home is now highly recommended, not so much to prevent COVID-19 but to stop eating. You think it’s bad now, just wait in 20 years our country will be run by people home schooled by day drinkers. Whoever owes you money, go to their house now, They should be home. Home schooling Day #342: They all graduated. ###Done
8. An advantage of having a red line higher than the normal shift points is the ability to "stretch" a gear. Auto cross and mountain rally special stages are good examples. If the next corner is close enough to only allow a couple seconds in the next gear, it's better not to shift and then down shift. The extra shifts provide an opportunity to miss a gear, or upset the chassis on corner entry. Personally, I hate banging against a rev limiter.
9. The video sound track is nice,. Probably thanks to what appears to be a rust hole in the muffler.
10. Auction: https://www.handh.co.uk/auction/lot/-2000-Caterham-Seven-18-Superlight/?lot=49822&so=0&st=&sto=0&au=489&ef=&et=&ic=False&sd=0&pp=96&pn=1&g=1
11. It would be interesting to know what the Toyota motor weighs. The Chevy is pretty hard to beat power to weight. A turbo Supra engine can pass 400 HP without doing anything internal.
12. Or he could just go the Locost route. Perfect fit.
13. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=17001&stc=1&d=1589057841 This is the color scheme my 600 had. I really wheeled and dealed on that car. Sold it to a BMW dealer. Doubled my money. Bought for $250, sold for $500!
14. True story. The first test in Bandera went to lady as seen below. Bandera is a nice little town, not far from San Antonio. When I was young, used to ride up that way on my motor bike, after work.
15. Sidemarkers on cars did not go into the FMVSS until 1969, so forget about it.
16. Some nice photos. Glad to see they are https://www.collierautomedia.com/adding-lightness
17. From my wife's doctor:
18. The original owner of my Birkin cut the fiberglass bottom out of the boot, leaving about an inch of floor around the perimeter. That holds the thick aluminum that is the new floor. It lifts out easily with a paint can opener, giving good access to everything below.
19. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=16971&stc=1&d=1588440415 A Gogomobile(?) next to an F40. That's funny. Never sat in a Gogomobile, but I did have an Isetta for a while. A big limo, 600! If my boys had been closer to driving age, I would have kept it for them. Some kind of BMW is mandatory in North Dallas. Did get to drive an F40. First thought, after 20 years, finally a car faster than a Cobra.
20. Pretty sure this thread's name should be changed from Losing It to Lost It. Maybe a touch of Mary Poppins:
21. "Some are taking wearing their masks below their noses a bit too literal....." There have been great strides in the technology of masks recently. I'm going to ditch my N95 and get the kind I see people using at Walmart. These new masks are so anti-viral that you don't have to cover your nose, the air is purified as it wafts over the mask. Even more powerful masks protect so well that you can just wear it around the neck. That might be something our president should look into.
22. Nice photos to have, congratulations. As always, a small person finds it's just the right fit. Great number plate and easy to remember. Definately a KAR and definately NOT a 965, C or otherwise.
