All good comments. I agree that a bright color "may" help. Mine is BRG, I also have a flag up at the back. But the main think is assuming they are all dummies. With all the electronic toys, people drive even worse now than 15 years ago. It is hard to see with a phone held in front of the face or looking down at the lap. Years ago, people ran red lights and would swear it was still yellow, close to the light change. Now about once a month I see someone go through a red light that may be half way through the cycle. They are truly driving blind. Same with stop signs. Not a slight roll, but straight through at 35 mph. Yikes! Stay away from everyone and keep your head on a swivel.

Nice car. Good luck with the sale. In the photos, is that a wind blocker mounted to the roll bar? Or is it only used with the reef? How does it work?

And don't forget the possibility of reworking pedals. The Birkin has had some work. My first sportscar was a Dinalpin (A110 Alpine) and the previous owner had removed the gas pedal, leaving just the lever with a roller on the end. That worked great and was perfectly placed for heal/toe. Where there's a will there's a way.

Peach baskets. I love it. Probably weighted with rocks, but just imagine if they were brimming with peachs? Smacking one would be a sight worth seeing. That would be betterrent than John Fitch's plastic water barrels.

Try one. That's the only way. My old Birkin is very faithful to an original S3 and I have size 12. The driving shoes are mandatory, but then it's no problem.

I have my Birkin insured with Hagerty, though it is titled as a 65 Lotus. No problems. Agreed value, etc. Great service on towing especially the first year. They do offer event track insurance, so maybe they were going down that path ?

True story. A dealer here in about 1986 had a 289 Cobra. Could NOT sell it - Brown. Lovely, if you like brown. Gave up, painted it red and added $20,000 to the price. Sold right away.

We Birkin owners are hoping that USA7s will enjoy the good doctor's posts. I have, for years. He has over 114,000 Kms on his Birkin, so one true believer. Always beautiful photos of his trips. Our Birkin Yahoo site has shut down, so we are begging him into this community.

Lexan is used in some armored vehicles, but to be effective it is quite thick. A Secret Service guy told me you can't drive one more than about 1/2 hour till you get a crashing headache.

Oh sure, make the poor gringos jealous. If one lives in an EPA Non-Attainment area, as I do, the closest non ethanol gas is 60 miles away. Haven't bothered to try and con some avgas.
