  1. And after you paint it in Team Caterham colors, maybe you can get all kinds of matching gear at Speedgear, probably discounted too.
  2. Jim, Sweet. In my younger days I had an R75/5 (toaster) as my daily transport. Before I got the Seven, I thought about an airhead. But, being older, I went with the Birkin. You've got the best of both worlds. Congrats, Mark
  3. Now look what you started. Jim, you'll have to tell us a bit about the rest of your motor-pool. What is the hack attached to? Is the beige frame in back a very old BMW? What is under the cover? Pictures may tell be worth a thousand words, but they also have embedded questions. -Mark
  4. Mike, The list is excellent. I just keep trying to find one you missed. Probably any I see would fall into your screened-out group. The greenhouse on the Swiss car reminded me of something from late 1930s Europe. The front not so much. Lots of advantages to a coupe though. Keep up the good work. Mark
  5. Croc, Pretty sure I would have remembered this, if on the list before. It came up on the same Hemmings page as the 360R. https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/caterham/super-7/2153527.html
  6. I don't remember seeing this on Croc's list. https://www.racingjunk.com/Lotus/183106473/1960-Lotus-Seven.html?category_id=&search=Lotus&quickSearch=1&np_offset=4&from=search#3 https://www.racingjunk.com/Vintage/183106459/1960-Lotus-7-Series-1-with-IRS.html?category_id=&search=Lotus&quickSearch=1&np_offset=11&from=search#1 OR something a bit different: https://www.racingjunk.com/Vintage/182936770/Mallock-Mk-11A-Sports-Racer-1971-SVRA-HSR-VRG-SCCA-NASA.html?category_id=&search=Lotus&quickSearch=1&np_offset=14&from=search#23

  9. Good info in the links. Thanks for posting. -Mark
  10. Let that be a lesson to all of us. Never put latex house paint in the gas tank. Seriously, thank God for the filter. It looks like it did its job. Might want to scope the tank and/or run a couple tanks of fuel system cleaner.
  11. "...Demon: look at the treadwear rating on the front tire!" Can't wait to see what Consumers Reports says about that!
  12. What are the contact points for the lift? What are the arms coming out to the tires? Is it a motorcycle lift? Did you get something to lift the rear too?
  13. Anyone ever been to this event? Looks like fun, according to Hemmings article: https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2018/10/18/put-in-bay-sports-car-races-2018/?refer=news
  14. Jeff, Welcome aboard. It will autocross very differently than the Miata. Slow inputs or you'll spend a lot of time sideways. Then you will see why the TV shows love the 7s. You can get very sideways and still catch it. Have fun. -Mark

  16. Best wishes for a safe recovery.
  17. Josh, good hunting for just the right car. About that 3:00 PM rain date. My first car was a 32-33 Ford street rod with no top, etc. Since I lived in Mexico City, I had a similar situation to yours. There, it rained all summer for 20 minutes at 4:00 PM. I carried a tarp in the truck to throw over the car and simply had a cafe to wait it out. If the weather is as reliable as that, you just plan ahead and work around it. With the driving joy of a Seven, we don't need no stinking top, windows, AC, radio, sat/nav, power steering, cruise control, ...
  18. Cool project. But, you'll never pass for Kimi, using so many words.

  20. "The course only troubles me if it is overdriven. Todd was being measured in his driving by leaving a margin of safety - you could see it in the video - but was close enough to make it exciting. Well put, Croc. In the Panamericana, (the 6 times I ran) we usually had one ex-F1 driver. They must have thought it was a circuit race. Most never finished the first day. None of them ever finished the second day without a crash. One has to adjust to the conditions. That street event looks like a lot of fun, though posting a few "No Spectating" areas would take nothing away. Just moving across the street in some cases would go a long way toward make it safer.
  21. Try the Carrera Panamericana.

  23. Holy Mole! No wonder I didn't try to built anything my own. Congratulations!
  24. OK, I give up. What is the first, red, car?
  25. Croc's list has gotten so long, I may have missed this one. Or it's new. https://www.streetsideclassics.com/vehicles/0823-nsh/1962-lotus-stalker-super-7
