  1. I've never had a problem driving across the country with a paper 30 day tag. Laminate it and put it in the regular plate holder. Texas limits a car to 3 in a year. I went through all those in the 9 months it took to get a title/registration.
  2. Oh NO! The Lucas electrics stumped Santa again.
  3. Clive Chapman and sister Jane recreate first Lotus Mk1 drive On December 16, 1948, Colin Chapman and his wife Hazel embarked on a 32-mile journey from a lock-up garage in north London to Dunstable Downs in Bedfordshire. The trip marked the first time a Lotus ventured onto the public road. Seventy-five years later, Colin and Hazel's son and daughter, Clive and Jane, made a touching tribute to their parents by recreating their historic journey in a Lotus Mk1. 4. Forget the jacked-up pickup. You're lit up enough to deter a long nose Kenworth! Good job. Puts my little flag on a bicycle past to same.
  5. Impressive work. Fabulous weather equipment. Thanks for showing.
  6. Not hard. Just bring it in under the river.
  7. One of the beauties of such a small car. No fuss, just reach all the way across the car to make an adjustment. No remote required. I could even reach over and roll down the passenger's window, except...
  8. CBuff, that position looks good, unless you are very vertically challenged. It's just some people on some cars mount too high. Any one you pick should work fine.
  9. Whatever you pick, I would just caution not to have a mirror at normal eye level. That causes aa blind spot you don't want. Checking a mirror is a fairly deliberate glance, so looking down slightly is not an inconvenience. Others may disagree, but they are wrong.
  10. And you saved the weight of all that paint and/or chrome! Even polished off a little metal.
  11. Might be just the thing if you're headed way down South to escape winter: Over the last few months, the Fraser team have been restoring a Fraser that was unfortunately written off in a minor accident. We purchased the car off the insurance company and have repaired the car back to better than it was before the crash. We are now pleased to offer the car up for sale to some lucky sod just in time for Christmas! It's powered by the proven 2L Toyota 3SGE on twin weber carbs. It has inboard front suspension and de dion rear suspension. It is the perfect car for either road touring and/or track days and is immaculately presented in bright yellow. If you think this is the perfect filler for your own stocking, give the factory a call 09 482 0071 or email dan@fraser.co.nz and we'll happily run you through the details and arrange a viewing.
  12. If I buy the wheels, are the cars thrown in the deal? On BAT
  13. I second the motion for a video. There should be bystanders with photos to share with you (us). Fun concept. Totally agree with your comment about learning to drive it. That's how I felt the first time I autocrossed the 7. High cg, skinny tires, leather helmet...
  14. Great look with the first test. Looks great. Pics?
  15. New track car on BAT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/seven-style-track-car/
  16. A picture is worth a thousand words, but a picture and ten words is worth a million. I'd like to see some words to go with this picture. "Cats mating in the wild get a bit rough."
  17. I had both those Dunpops and Falken Azenis (sp?) 650K (?) on a Miata for autocross and street. Felt and scored the same. Falkens cheaper.
  18. Lotus VI prototype: https://www.handh.co.uk/auction/lot/lot-1952-lotus-mark-vi-prototype/?lot=58835&so=2&st=&sto=0&au=531&ef=&et=&ic=False&sd=0&pp=48&pn=1&g=1
  19. OK, it's not a Seven. But as an electric sport car, looks to be great. https://goodwoodnews.com/1QLU-8GBMX-6UCMB1-5ASK6M-1/c.aspx
  20. I'm just more of a Dia de los Muertos guy. Much better holiday.
  21. That is SO wrong. But funny.
  22. As if we were not jealous enough. End with: "Off to Goodwood next week."
  23. Looks like some kind of Halloween photo. Eaten alive!
  24. Great run I'll bet. Cool photos. BTW, "Ford GT", not GT40.
  25. A turn down will spread the sound a bit. I would guess that i you route to the rear, you would just add another silencer element there.
