  1. Congratulations. That will be well worth the work.
  2. Wonderful write-ups with visuals. Thanks. Love the red paint accents on the red P. What a German might call a badge of honor.
  3. I got a bicycle flag and fiberglass mast. Flag disintegrated in a day. I've tried cloth flags. A heavy good quality one made a racket, but a light duty one is quiet and has been OK for a few years.
  4. Better get used to all that grinning. Builds facial muscles and prevents wrinkles. Great job on the build.
  5. To get it ready in 2 weeks, you'll need one of those TV show shops.
  6. Congratulations! You've got to be feeling good about that start up.
  7. Auction Seven: https://cars.bonhams.com/auction/28012/lot/32/1963-lotus-super-seven-1500-series-2-chassis-no-sb-1732-engine-no-116e-134567/
  8. You rotten bastards! Just when I thought I might not spend money on my car, you deviously lead me to check a web site that wants my money. Right at the top, a compact air conditioning system. 500 Pounds and I have a great mechanic that knows his way around my car and AC. I could actually use my 7 next summer. I would have to put the windshield back on, and maybe a bikini top, easy enough. I once drove a cobra replica (Aurora) in our summer heat and with the flat screen the AC was perfectly adequate. This summer has been intolerable, but now I'm thinking.
  9. Make sure that little girl learns to drive at twelve. Best age to begin. Oddly enough, just today I was discussing hearing loss with a friend - what noises were "worth it" or not. Sport cars YES! Move the "no muffler" to the plus column. (just kidding, guys. don't flame me)
  10. New on Hemmings: https://www.hemmings.com/auction/1962-lotus-7-holland-mi-252131?utm_medium=email&utm_source=auctions_newsletter
  11. In the early days of no-lead, there were little attachments to make old lead nozzles fit the no-lead traps. Not a funnel, just an adapter maybe2-3 inches long.
  12. Kieft is an interesting one. Is the sport/racer an OSCA they ran? Did they do any Formula Juniors?
  13. Another huge factor is that so many shops will only hired "qualified" techs. There is no apprentice, journeyman, master pathway. And most of the "qualified" people I would not call good journeymen. Just a handful of true masters left. I feel very fortunate to have been using one for over 30 years. At the last place I worked, the shop's pathway had stopped 20+ years ago. All the supervisors and good mechanics there had started when they had an apprentice program. American business is short sighted about the future in many areas. Only this quarter matters. Maybe we do need a poli/gripe thread. Sound like a bunch of ole grouches.
  14. Looks great. And even has the steering wheel on the proper side!
  15. Who knows what these V8s are? I guess the first might be Rover/BOP?
  16. Welcome to a good group. Nice to have the exhaust initiation behind you. You only do it once.
  17. Well, but they are trying to run themselves out of business. Best example I've seen was a big book store used the space just inside the door with 2 tables and sales people pushing various reading electronic tablets. That book store is now out of business. Maybe some executives deserve bigger bonuses.
  18. Maybe they blocked you because you are reposting. Someone browsed this site or tracked the site visited next? Certainly enough to make one paranoid.
  19. Wow! Thanks for the tip. There is a Murphy's near Love Field, which is maybe 5 miles and I go by there frequently. Webb site says the have ethanol free. Don't know if EPA rules changed or Dallas & Tarrant counties improved our "nonattainment" status.
  20. Vipergeek, so where is the station. The closest I found in Greenville.
  21. "typical govt scam pay more, get less" I suspect they learned it from Porsche.
  22. Check with some cops in your area. Texas cops had a fit a fews ago about brackets covering the state name or even slogans on plates. Some folks had to get new brackets. I have not heard anything since. Texas requires front plates and in 20 years with a Miata and the Birkin I have never put a front plate on. Neither car ever pulled over by a cop. Talk to some.
  23. Sounds like the life of Riley in Italia. Nice work on the Seven. I'm so jealous of your roads. I have been in that area and it is great. Cheers!
