  1. I think you're right, also it looks like what I thought was clag seems to be rubber from the right side of the tires that have accumulated, the lines are suspiciously straight and uniform. If that's the case do you think any setup like the camber needs to change? I'm not really clued in to setups yet.
  2. These are the fronts, picked up tons of clag I guess on the pit entry, they are quite a mess! The outsides of both left and right have more wear, but I think that's more to do with the setup not being quite right, maybe not enough camber or too much toe out. They were 20psi before the stint, the right sides were about 1.5psi higher at the end so there must be more wear for the rights but I can't see it by eyeballing. I'm guessing they'll manage one more weekend, they are a pretty soft compound - R35.
  3. Hopefully Biden knows how to design and fabricate a throttle pedal, if not he’s dead to me.
  4. IMO you only need it if your garage ceiling isn’t tall enough for the engine hoist work or is too small to maneuver the engine hoist around the front of the chassis.
  5. Here's some video from the Daytona Road Course last weekend... The spastic blip shifts were due to a poorly conceived and made last minute mod to the gas pedal - I slid a PVC tube in the circle bit of the pedal with the intention of making it easier to rotate the foot onto the gas when braking. Unfortunately it was too much and every time I braked, I also pressed down some on the gas as you can see from the green bar on the video. A complete failure, I really need to do something properly over the winter break. Anyways, the rest of the car was great, the hoosier slicks were amazing and the track was a hoot to drive, would recommend if you get a chance. Enjoy!
  6. Yeah it was a little pushy, that weekend was basically a shakedown of the car, breaking in the gearbox and making sure there were no leaks or breakages etc. The suspension was not setup well at all at the time just eyeballed. I guess the weight of the passenger didn't help matters.
  7. Hi Atterbud, the opening where the seat goes for the SV is 17.5"-18" wide where the lower torso goes so if the opening is wide enough it'll depend on the seat selection. The seat is bolted down to sheet metal so I would think you could use anything that fits. I have Tillet bucket seats which definitely wouldn't work for you, I'm sure someone has good seat ideas.
  8. I just purchased a new set of Avon ZZRs from Roger Kraus Racing a few weeks ago, I had the tires in a few days from enquiry so they are super fast and responsive. The tires are just north of $200/tire.
  9. I wouldn't go over 1/16" toe out unless you like replacing tires regularly. I found that out the hard way
  10. Could maybe try a tach noise filter? https://www.summitracing.com/parts/vdo-291000021730
  11. So glad I started this thread after the trip lol.
  12. They warned about turtles and ground hogs, no deer, but after watching yellowss7’s video I’m surprised they didn’t mention it lol.
  13. The factory installed one I got is on the LHS....
  14. For Alabama the manufacturer was "Assembly" on the title application. The title came back as "Caterham". Go figure.
  15. Unfortunately not, I'll be racing Champcar Road America Oct 24th, then Chin Daytona October 31st. Lots of catching up to do
  16. Thanks! It's a perfect track for a Seven. The tires I had on were Avon ZZRs, 13/6 front 13/8 rear. They are really great tires for street legal, though they tend to overheat and get greasy after half a dozen laps or so, I guess unsurprisingly so. I have a set of Hoosier slicks that I haven't broken out yet, same dimensions. The tire shredding was from the other cars - the grill, my helmet and cockpit was covered in it, the ZZRs vulcanized but did not shred, I guess the car is just not heavy enough to do that. The only concern I have right now is the steering column clamp, which seems to loosen up during the weekends. The design of the clamp doesn't seem to be great to me, it's a lot of torque on a tiny radius with a small clamping surface area. And that's with the camber set to a moderate level (2-2-2 on the washers).
  17. This is from the Chin track day at Summit Point in WV last weekend, it's a lot faster than I expected and a real tire shredder, session was cut short by a bashed up but ok miata on turn 1. If anyone knows this track well let me know if my lines were ok?
  18. I would start by emailing Caterham and getting them involved, I'd have to check the T&Cs but normally if they secured the shipping to your door they are responsible for customs issues. Worst case it'll get kicked back to Caterham and they'll have to reship without the belts (you can buy them from Summit Racing in the US anyways). Another option is to check box 8 and write that import letter.
  19. Wouldn't factor in coolant fluid leaks in the equation, if that happens you're stopping anyways
  20. Are you travelling local or long distances? Serious road trips I would recommend a fully enclosed car hauler to keep road dirt, rain and thieves out.
  21. Hey Jimmy, I may be too far away but if you can make a drive to Birmingham, AL you are welcome to swing by and jump in my 420R, I'm in town during the week and the next 2 weekends. Simon
  22. Really impressive Dave, thanks for posting that!
  23. Yes please!
  24. For the track rats on here does anyone have a good pedal setup to make a heel/toe work? I have the throttle pedal with the weird circular disc on the end. Thanks! Simon
