  1. After becoming the world's first trillionaire, I plan to build the world's first front-engined rocket sled. In fact, I have already composed a short list of potential test pilots.

    Hurricane Irene

Nature can be a real Mother. Never been in a hurricane, but was in the area of Suzuka, Japan for the F1 race in 2004 when typhoon Ma-on appeared to be on its way, and qualifying was postponed. As it turned out, the main body of that typhoon stayed out at sea, but even so, the storm was tremendous. On the plus side, the weather on race day was glorious. I understand that with typhoons/hurricanes, it is always very pleasant weather the following day.
  3. Looks kinda swoopy: http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn384/BBL-Sean/smileys/fyiyb.jpg edit: This new swoopy-font branding seems to just scream out, "Hey! I want to BASE jump in the Himalayas after walking wounded dogs down the Camino con Queso!"

    classic man jokes

How many male chauvinists does it take to change a lightbulb? F**k it; Let the b***h cook in the dark. Because this joke slams the male chauvinist and his outdated ways, one would think most women would just LOVE this joke, but for some reason, they never seem to laugh at this one. Women - go figure.

  6. Dean - Let's not make this political, please. If you want to post your own words, fine, but please don't make it falsely appear as though I am the one making it political by changing my words, but then leaving it as a quote from me.
  7. Almost makes me want to move to rural Texas and put up a life-sized statue of a hippie in the front yard, just to watch the fireworks when the cops start shooting it up.
  8. I went to the inaugural U.S.G.P. at Indy, but have never been to the 500. I have a friend who goes every year, where he meets up with his friends Florence and Jim. They have great seats, but they have to sing to get them. Here they are shortly before the start of last year's race, with my friend Kent in the back waiting to take a photo, and Florence, Mari, and Jim in the foreground. This photo was taken by Mari's daughter Nancy. http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn384/BBL-Sean/smileys/38468_1469059600276_1047161433_1385697_579315_n.jpg
  9. I like the technology in the GTR, but am not a fan of the car. Nissan had a cool cut-away view of the then-new GTR at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show. Looked impressive on the inside: http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn384/BBL-Sean/smileys/TMS40GTR1.jpg http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn384/BBL-Sean/smileys/TMS40GTR2.jpg http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn384/BBL-Sean/smileys/TMS40GTR3.jpg
  10. Saw this on another forum. Seems odd in that it appears to be a U.S. license plate on the picture of a British car used on the label of a British Ale. I suppose this post demands the use of this emoticon  http://thumbsnap.com/s/ghVf3WK2.jpg
  11. Boobietown, U.S.A. apparently.
  12. I'm just glad it is being released at all in the U.S. Without the critical acclaim it received from Sundance and other notable film festivals, I doubt this would have been released in more than a handful of theaters here.
  13. The gray color changes a bit when outside in natural light vs. inside, where it looks to have a hint of green.

    A bloke's joke

seen on Blatchat: I met two girls down the pub last night who had strong Cardiff accents. I said, "I know that accent. You two ladies are from Scotland, aren't you?" "Wales, you f***ing idiot," one of them replied. "Sorry," I said, "You two whales are from Scotland, aren't you?"
  15. I prefer the Onitsuka Tiger, which is the original name for the Asics shoe company, Tai Chi model martial arts shoe, which is simply a leather slipper with a thin piece of rubber attached as a sole: http://www.classicsportshoes.com/onitsuka-tiger-tai-chi-black-white.html http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/classicsportshoes_2156_47730686 ...Or the Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66, which has a similar upper but with a bit more sole, particularly in the heel and mid-foot area: http://www.classicsportshoes.com/mexico66-dx-onitsuka-tiger-coffeebean.html http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/classicsportshoes_2153_10144692 Both add only the thickness of the leather to the width of one's foot - no additional width from padding or sole overhang. edit: Here's a Merrell Tough Glove, which similar to the OT shoes above: http://img.wolverineworldwide.com/is/image/migrated/Merrell/Shoe/MRL-W85505-051810.tif?op_usm=0.5,1&wid=500&hei=520&qlt=70&fmt=jpg&extend=0,0,0,20
  16. Excuse me, as I don't watch much t.v., and especially not the reality shows, but, is this a photo of the octomom from the show "Will & Kate Plus Eight"? I didn't know she was doing so well financially.
  17. I wonder how long until they correct the misspelling of his name in the article and headline? If they even notice.
  18. Their records are partially correct - I did receive the YD8111 crate engine loom with my engine and ECU. The engine harness-to-vehicle harness connector on the YD8111 is a rectangular 8-pin connector that looks like this: http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn384/BBL-Sean/7%20Build%20Issues/IFcon-eng.jpg The corresponding connector on the vehicle harness is a square(-ish) 14-pin connector that looks like this: http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn384/BBL-Sean/7%20Build%20Issues/IFcon-veh.jpg Clearly this was not going to work at all. I later found out, on my own, through multiple e-mails with Cosworth U.K. over at least a couple of weeks, that Cosworth in the U.K. had the YD8048 engine harness as a standard item, but nobody in Torrance seemed to be aware it even existed. Once this was pointed out, Ken Anderson had a YD8048 sent from The Octagon right away, and I returned the YD8111 to Torrance. When the Caterham-specific and MBE-specific Cosworth YD8048 harness was installed between the Cosworth supplied engine and the Cosworth supplied MBE ECU, it all connected up, and fired up, with no additional issues. Ken is now a V.P., last I heard (and deserves it IMO), but Kyong might want to look into updating their records, at least on my file. Still, overall, Cosworth in Torrance worked with me to correct any issues I had and to make me a happy customer, and provided me with excellent customer service IMO. edit -- For reference, this harness troubleshooting took place between June and August of 2008.
  19. I hope the dinner went well. I find the possibility of a rerun in 2015 interesting. Is that intended to mean a rerun of the British (mostly) invasion in 2005 on the HTWWD tour? I really wanted to go on at least part of that one, but it just didn't work out for me at that time.
  20. This is B.S. :bs: You bought the engine, ECU, and wiring harness all from the same source. They are designed to work together, and have for other customers in the past. If they are not working together, the supplier needs to know about it, and should see to getting it corrected.
  21. Yes. And not just me - Alaskossie also runs the Cosworth 2.3, MBE ECU, and YD8048 engine harness, I am pretty sure. If your mechanic has the schematic diagram of the engine harness, it should be easy for him (her?) to determine if that is mis-wired.
  22. Suggestion: have you tried something like this?

  24. I am going to speculate that he meant the law prevents a Duratec powered Seven in Canada (?).
