  1. David - Might sound obvious, but have you tried K&N? I found what appears to be a good starting point on their web pages here, and you can measure what you have to narrow it down. I see you are in Menlo Park. A few of us are conspiring to hold a BBQ/picnic in Los Gatos around lunch time on Saturday the 20th, if you'd like to join us. More info on the picnic thread in the Pacific Events section.
  2. Date changed to the 20th because it coincided with more people's schedules than the 13th. So Saturday, October 20th it shall be.

    Monterey Week Blat

If I would have known about this, I would have liked to have tagged along for that day. Oh well... :nopity:
  4. I didn't mean to come across as pedantic MoPho, but until your post, I never thought about the 275 GTB and the MX-5 as similar, but now I think there may be some resemblance between the two when viewed from the front. I'm not seeing any Daytona at all though, from any angle.
  5. Did you mean the 365 GTB/4 (a.k.a. "Daytona"), or the 275 GTB, GTB/4, GTS, etc.?
  6. I plan to attend the RMMR on Saturday. Not sure about attending the breakfast, but found the breakfast info on the GGLC site, which reads, in part:
  7. Yes, at the bottom-left of the grid, it reads "All Times Eastern Standard". Which is technically incorrect, as we are not currently on Standard Time, but Daylight Time. The difference is functionally insignificant, but I always find it surprising when a global brand like ESPN, and/or parent company Disney, make silly little errors like this when it would be so easy to skirt the whole issue by just putting "Eastern Time" on there. I probably need to put this  here now. In any case, the page linked indicates it is scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN2 on Sunday night at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Check your local listings for more specific details, I suppose. Thanks for the pointer, Skip.
  8. Congratulations on making the cover, Tom. And a great shot!
  9. I met up with some of the USA2005 Tour group at Sonoma Raceway (formerly known as Infineon Raceway, and Sears Point before that - I'm getting' old!), but many of the group did not attend this track day, so only part of the group is in this shot: http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn384/BBL-Sean/forum_photos/2005-38sevens.jpg ...and more 7s in the driveway isn't that much better than one in the driveway to me - a 7 on the road is what's better than one in the driveway, IMHO.
  10. I had a lean condition at upper rpm under load. The problem turned out to be the Caterham-supplied fuel pump being insufficient. The solution was... see post #2 of this thread.
  11. I don't know. I have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator on my Duratec (similar to Alaskossie's). I would think your fuel system probably has a FPR somewhere, probably near the fuel rail. edit: Your regulator may or may not be adjustable, but in any case, it should regulate the fuel pressure.
  12. I went through this not long ago. I went with a Deatsch Werks DW200, choosing their "universal install" variation of that pump. I had to bore out the white plastic carrier by about .080" and get a different fuel strainer sock doo-hickey from the local auto parts store (Airtex FS175), but it was otherwise a simple installation and I now have solid unwavering fuel pressure. I bought the pump for 99 bucks + tax & shipping from their U.S. distributor, Rally Sport Direct in Utah. I have no affiliation with any of these companies, but so far, the pump works as advertised (and has a 3-year warranty) and the distributor was not unpleasant to work with. Full details (with some photos) here.
  13. A curious choice of words. Reminds me of the auto-pilot scene from "Airplane!"
  14. Nick, Your first step is to go to DMV with all of your paperwork and your checkbook and locate the employee who is familiar with SPCNS. If they do not have one, go to another DMV office. The VIN verification is done by the CHP. For new builds, the first step after DMV is the Brake & Light inspection, but you will probably not need this for a car that has already been legally registered in another state. No. Yes. At the initial DMV visit, they will tell you what else needs to be done (visit CHP and CARB ). You should not need a trailer for any part of the process. Best of luck.
  15. BHP = brake horsepower (at the engine) tonne = 1,000 kg
  16. Sorry to hear about the crash. The Caterham parts web page lists the cost of a replacement chassis at £3,800 before VAT: here. edit: Oops! I see the SV one costs £4,100 before VAT. I had forgotten that yours is the SV chassis.
  17. Let this be a lesson to all of you - have your women do the ironing at home, and not while driving.
  18. A 7-ish car (unsure of the type?) in some snow: http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn384/BBL-Sean/forum_photos/bbs_7558518_2DE891FD48434B480445B8E80299769B.jpg
  19. No, they no longer make them.
  20. I don't think it is a CSR, but rather a narrow-bodied car (S3). I'm not 100% sure either way, but if you think you might want to go down there to try it on for size, might be good to verify which chassis you will be trying.
  21. I know of one car that was completed with RiF's cf panels and bonnet (and wings, and mirrors, and aeroscreen, and...), and that is Norman's car. Norman bought Richard's place in France when RiF was moving back to the U.K. Not sure what happened to Norman or his car. http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn384/BBL-Sean/smileys/Norman7.jpg
  22. John, Another great event, which is often overlooked (and is free of charge) is the Carmel Concours on the Avenue, which will be held in downtown Carmel on Tuesday the 14th from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. CCotA site: http://www.motorclubevents.com/ General Car Week info site: http://www.seemonterey.com/concours (Skip: this one has what appears to be a reasonable hotel link)
  23. Cool! An F40!
  24. I feel certain you did not plagiarize Dale Carnegie's "How To Win Friends And Influence People" in composing this phrase. And while I agree the other cars referenced here so far are hideous in their own right, I still think the Aztek retains the crown. IMHO, of course. edit -- They even spelled the word "Aztek" ugly!
