  1. @jordway Are you saying the problem is now solved with the new battery?
  2. I like the seat harness bolt head caps. Source?
  3. Thanks Steve. I need to get the rebuild parts and send them to someone to do the work. Maybe the carbs too. Or should I just wait on the carbs to see if I they need it. IIRC, l was pretty good at using fuel stabilizer. I have yet to crack one open to see any varnish.. I do have rebuild kits I ordered for DCOE 40s but what I got says on the pack its for 45s. Can I get a confirmation they are interchangeable? The package doesn't specify.
  4. What say the gallery? Car sitting for ten years. Standard Cat Triumph Girling T14 fronts and Ital drum axle. Im running out of energy and brain cells. Shall I rebuild everything or replace everything? Im not opposed to upgrading the fronts. never could lock them before. The MC is 50/50 so Im looking for a bias device, not a variable valve but a proportioning device.
  5. Is that a real Lotus nose? Hard to tell by the pic, but I'll bet its not far off, maybe three inches narrower?
  6. I am looking for a Lotus nose as well, possibly early Caterham before they raised the bonnet height. Need it for a Downdraft conversion and/or DCOEs. The height was added to clear the belt driven engines better. But I think the original angle looks much better and better for a bonnet with hood scoop. I hope Arch will turn out an older bonnet. Update, Crickets from Arch. A post on C&L7C says that Arch isn't making Lotus height, or length, bonnets.
  7. That is an enterprising idea, but I doubt there is much demand. I expect to incur a 20% performance decrease wirh the downdraft. I doubt many will want that. Chris has only one original scoop and can supply the tiny global demand. I really don't want to thin out Chris's sales prospects competing If he does the investment and makes a quality item. If he doesn't follow through and I found on original on my own, I would. But its the same situation, low demand and nobody would find me. I would have to sell through a larger supplier like Redline or Demon Tweaks and the margins thin out with shipping, etc.
  8. talked to Chris M. today. He has one original scoop he uses for casting repros. He intends to have some made. No promises on when. He did tell me rhat he has moved to his retirement estate and will be working the "front end" of the business from there, the management side while his son and family do the picking and fulfilling. Chris will remain the point of contact for inquiries.
  9. Security... get a padlock to lock the chains to the hitch or lock the ball latch. Do something if you will be making overnight stops. Just assume someone will try to steal your trailer. Experience.
  10. where did you get those straps?
  11. do you have a spare tire tire carrier on the back? My minimum trailer size is 5x11. without nose cone and wings, engine, etc, I sure you can fit it in 10' even if you had to cross diagonally some. But there is a universal law about trailers, always get more than you think you need.
  12. .
  13. call Ken at Dave Bean 209- 754-5802
  14. the drive shaft just slips into the rear of the T9. they slide for movement and flexing, etc. when it comes out, and the T9 is tilted, oil will pour out. This isn't an issue as long as you are capturing it. but can get messy. other option is to unbolt shaft from diff. must replace shaft the same position it was. caution, the shaft can still slip off.
  15. Bought it $12. Thanks!😁 Then bought ten more things I didn't know I needed. Darn you!😡
  16. Been debating on going with a GPS/sensor speedo for T-9.
  17. Replace the output seal and speedo seal while its out

  19. Raise the car as far off the ground as possible, like 2 feet at least. Most floor jacks can't go that high but you can do it with blocks. remove the radiator so it doesn't get damaged. it's a good time to change hoses to a Samco kit anyway. if you will be removing the intake manifold, do it before removal and if you're removing the head, remove that too. These things detached free up space. Get an engine lift leveler. look that up. if possible, get a ganrty crane for engine hoist and move the car for minor latteral adjustments. If you can remove the driveshaft with the transmission, it will prevent oil loss. protect or remove the headlights. Lotz of cardboard to protect surfaces (from you, especially)
  20. @jordwaywhat style of driving will you be doing? Is this for a track car that must be compliant? Or a road car you want to be compliant for future track compliance? If the latter, I would consider an under scuttle non removable switch. Save the external mounting for race prep when its necessary.
  21. Its written like a warning of sorts. like he has something to convey to potential buyers. A real S2 in good condition shouldn't take 6 months to sell.
  22. Pics! just for the eye candy
  23. Chris hasn't responded to me. He may be avoiding me because I made a Burton order for parts he worked up a quote on. The Ukraine invasion was starting and Chris didn't have the engine stands. I didn't want to wait.
