  1. I kind of think we that it should be reversed. Showing the decent of man to the ape then eventually the se7en driver. A se7en is as about a primitive as you can get. A shirt like that would be funny!
  2. The Glenn is cool track but what makes it cool is the history of auto sport in the area. On any car nut's list should be the Seneca Lodge, driving the road circuit around the town and the International Motor Racing Research Center. If you don't take your spouse on a tour of the wineries (I like Bully Hill) you will be in trouble. Aviation enthusiasts should visit: National Soaring Museum, Glenn H. Curtiss Museum and take a sailplane ride at Harris Hill. Probably the best museum of glass in the country is in nearby Corning.
  3. Pretty funny! Lots of junk and some quite usable stuff. My mechanic friend (almost exclusively old Mini) has mostly HF tools. He picks and chooses carefully. I have owned a set of Snap-On safety wire pliers for 30 years. They aren't even close to being broken in yet. Someday long after I'm gone someone will have a nice set of pliers.
  4. Claudia & I will help out. Typically she helps with registration. I'll send an email see about what I can do.
  5. I miss my old Onkyo
  6. Very cool

  8. Please; Please can I be a snob? I'm already a slob. Ask my mom. We will be at LOG. It is reasonably close to my home town so I can combine LOG with a visit with my relatives. I hope to have our Elan in good enough shape to make the trip under its own power. No track day for me.
  9. Best bit of riding I ever saw was recorded on the Isle of Mann TT. I have huge respect for those who race it. Someday maybe I can go and see it.
  10. Impressive. The wheels are unique. It struck me that a yellow dash might make the interior pop.
  11. An MGB is large and luxurious compared to a Se7en. I drove a 77' MGB as a daily driver for 7 years. I wouldn't even consider a Se7en as a daily driver. A Se7en is head a shoulders more fun than an MGB. The Caterham, Birkin, ... all have reasonable tops available at least compared to a B. Think of a Se7en as you would a touring motorcycle and you will have a good idea of what one is like.
  12. Another traditional supplier is RD Enterprises in PA
  13. It looked like a fabulous event. Some great Se7en action. http://thegaragista.com/2012/11/10/japan-lotus-day-2012-ジャパン・ロータスデー2012-part-1/ http://thegaragista.com/2012/11/18/japan-lotus-day-2012-ジャパン・ロータスデ-2012-part-2-sevens-elans-ロータス-セブ/ Particularly interesting is the backwards 7 grill on one car. I would love to be able to visit Japan with our 7. An event like this would make life time memories.
  14. I say we unleash the Frenchies on em.
  15. Good luck. Missed you at LOG.
  16. ...SB1347 was once owned by British Formula One drive, Piers Courage. It was purchased as a kit from Lotus in 1961 by Piers’ father... http://thegaragista.com/2012/10/25/before-f1-piers-courages-lotus-seven/ One period photo and several of the restoration including one with Sir Frank Williams
  17. Is there going to be a 40th anniversary celebration for Caterham here in the USA? 40 years is quite an achievement. It should be celebrated. The new owner, Tony F. could throw some money toward a celebration.
  18. It looks like LOG 33 will be held in association with the vintage race.
  19. The event hotel has a shuttle to Sea World so we hope to see that. Sebring should be fun. I enjoy running around on different tracks just for the experience. At various LOG I've been able to drive around a few that provided great experiences: Gateway - oh so thats why there are tire marks on the wall, Talladega - Sure is steep. I wish the Seven would go fast enough to stick to the banking. Indy - Wow history was made here, Blackhawk farms - Then you turn hard at the tree... I'm signed up for the auto-x and expect to be the slowest Lotus/Se7en out there. It will be great to see some of our old friends there. I hope to meet a bunch of folks from this forum.
  20. The best part of this is the possibility of a ROAD TRIP and then having something odd to take to car events. In 5 more years it will be eligible for AACA events possibly cars with significant original features (save the tires).
  21. Se7en with Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114369/
  22. I've had white spots on the back window of my MGB. I don't recall any texture. They seemed to be caused by creases. I had good luck with 3M products that were for boat vinyl.
  23. The clam style fenders should provide enough aerodynamic drag and front end lift to slow down a Se7en. Even the most ham fisted Porsche driver should be able to pass on a straight.
  24. Did I see LEDs a the very front underside of the fenders? It kind of calls out for a flappy paddle automatic. To my eyes the styling needs some tweaks but very impressive.
  25. The new fenders are a nice addition. It makes the car pop. It seems a bit odd that the back of the rear fenders are below the bottom of the car. Is this normal? Have I missed this for all these years?
