  1. So they say things like Left, Right, Right some more... ?
  2. Seemingly so as a piece of it seems to be dangling after the "save".
  3. It would be better if she knew how to act, or even walk in a straigh line. The dude in the top hat is awsome.
  4. Those wheels just seem to go with the 7. Most other wheels just don't look right to my eyes.
  5. Shots from above show how the Se7en has evolved. The very early cars have a lot of taper from the scuttle to the nose, later cars less so. The Stalkers are almost rectangles. Great pictures.
  6. JEGS & Pegasus have all the materials. When I did mine I dispensed with the fancy tape clamps and used safety wire. Cheaper and more in the spirit. I did coat it with the high temperature paint. http://www.jegs.com/c/Exhaust-Headers-Mufflers_Heat-Shields-Insulation-Header-Wrap/10261/10002/-1 They even have several colors to choose from. https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/group.asp?GroupID=HEATBARRIER

    Austin F1 race

There will be a contingent of Lotus fans at T5. There is also a possibility of Lotus Ltd infield parking. I wish I could go.
  8. Good ones: phone numbers of your favorite suppliers. If you are a member of Lotus Ltd take the registry. It contains a geographical (zip code) list of members that you can contact to help you out. It has stuff like has a safe place to store the car, mechanical knowledge, trailer that will come and get you...
  9. MightyMike; It was always interesting to see what you were doing to this car. Congratulations on the sale and good luck to the new owner.
  10. Sept 15th or 16th would work for me. La Hacienda the Mexican place is good (owned by a co-worker of mine) as is the Surrey House although it tends to be crowed on the weekend.
  11. Pick a date that doesn't include the weekend of August August 25/26. The parkway is a nice relaxing road (patrolled by National Park Service so speeding is very bad). Unfortunately I don't know of any fun roads around Williamsburg. We can easily find a place to meet, have lunch...
  12. A nutsO car!
  13. By a full bodied car I was thinking along the lines of the Lotus VI specials that a few people made back in the day. Much more basic than the 21, their Elan knock off. Tony F. has plenty of money to throw around. The TVR's could from the basis of larger more expensive products. Ginetta is doing OK, so I don't think they would be for sale although you have an interesting point.
  14. Yes it will be interesting watching what they do. Will it be taking over production of the Elise & its variants, another attempt at reproducing the Elan, reproducing the Type 14 Elite, a fully bodied 7, other race/track cars or an entirely new direction. I say, buy out TVR and start making them again, build a fully bodied 7, start building Formula Fords and keep the 7 rolling.
  15. I don't drive my 7 that far but maybe we could do somthing around Williamsburg? I'm in Newport News.
  16. Amazing that the Elite and Seven were concurrent models from a small manufacture. If I ever get to meet Hazel Chapman I am going to thank her for enticing Colin into making the Seven.
  17. +1 one the spare key - I arrived without a key once. Does anyone have experience with the wireless backup cameras with an enclosed trailer?
  18. So your doing a stand up routine?
  19. I guess I have to move on from preferred ticket.
  20. A bunch of wimps. They ran with the doors on!
  21. Ferrari Daytona convertible in chrome yellow. I saw one that parked on the street in Seattle. Even thought I hear that they drive like trucks. Kind of the opposite end of the spectrum of cars from a Seven but a classic.
  22. A spridget would work well for engine, transmission, rear end but there isn't much power. If you were to go with a Ford engine I would go with a Ford transmission. It is rare to hear of transmission problems with Elan's which use the Lotus twin cam on a Ford base along with the transmission. Starting with good parts is important. It is easy to drop $6K on a spridget engine rebuild.
  23. My wife and I are big fans of LOG having only missed one since 1987. There is always lots to do and plenty of cars to see although you never know what will show up. We have made friends with many people over the years. It is an excellent place to make contacts with people and get new ideas. If you are a newcomer to auto-X or track events it is a good place to start. There will be people with experience in whatever you drive who are willing to help you out. Safety is very important to Lotus Ltd and their events reflect this. I urge everyone to attend a LOG if they can.
  24. Great picture of you t2o (kind of like Se7en). Enjoy.
  25. Nice. What is that other yellow car?
