  1. I think Andrew7 makes very good points. I would expect BEC's to require more maintenance intensive than Sevens with car engines. The weight of a Se7en is high in comparison to sport bikes (500 lbs, even a Goldwing is only 800 lbs). Another factor is that Se7ens have much more traction. Shock loads would be much greater.

    CMC Miata

Someone you have met through NASA should have access to scales. Even if you don't plan on corner weighting try and get a no fuel, high fuel with and without you in the car. It will give you something to ponder between track sessions.

    What am I?

That shard looks too familiar. Good luck.
  4. Flat black rat rod (rat Se7en) or is paint on the list?
  5. At least the rod will make a great conversation piece/paperweight
  6. On much lighter motorcycles I follow the Keith Code's Cal Superbike school approach. Up shift - load the transmission lever quickly back off the throttle then back on. Once the revs match the shift happens automatically. Down shift - clutch in, bump the throttle to increase match revs, push the shift lever down, clutch out, throttle to desired setting.
  7. Looks very good. Be careful. The clams could be scary at the kinds of speeds obtainable with a Stalker.

This category is for us nut cases who will use LOG as an excuse to take an extended driving vacation. So take the indirect route to LOG. A gallery of rare and intriguing Lotus memorabilia. The intent is to create a museum style setting for the display of: original drawings, autographs, ephemera, bits of famous race cars, rare model kits, vintage posters, photographs and etc. from Lotus history. This is an excellent opportunity to show off some of your Lotus treasures. Interested? I will be monitoring LOG30Dean@cox.net or send me a private message.
  11. Cool.
  12. I would like to see it without all the graphics.
  13. How about black flames to integrate the CF nose and air filter? Black chrome the exhaust cover - big bucks.

    Car Update

Nice car. A great use of lists. I wish I could be that organized. I guess I am rebelling from my professional life which is well ogranized
  15. Anyone want to try this at LOG 30?
  16. Nice, thanks.
  17. Just getting coverage of Se7ens is a step in the right direction. Too many magazines seem to give scant coverage to Lotus and Se7ens.

    My first wing

There is a trick to cutting wings. Mark and number points on each template. Have 2 people move the wing/cutter very slowly with one person calling out the numbers so you both stay in sync. You are trying to keep the wire straight and keep it moving.
  19. You could run in straight up like a semi does. It would look redneck funny.

Welcome Kiyoshi; Is there a Lotus you haven't owned? Looking forward to seeing you at LOG. Dean Giacopassi
  21. We survived the weekend and what a weekend it was. We had a surprisingly quick and smooth drive up I-95 to Philadelphia. The magic of GPS took us to our hotel without a worry. We made a quick stop at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum to check out their gift shop and meet a few of the people working there. The opening reception was nice. Great cars and car enthusiasts were everywhere. We were able to spend a few enjoyable hours talking with people and viewing the cars. Saturday was spent playing tourist. Great piles of snow made driving the back streets of Philadelphia very interesting. We started out with a trip to the Liberty bell. The lack of crowds let us take our time visiting several other sites. We managed to have the most expensive lunch I have ever paid for at Amada. My wife enjoyed it, making it worthwhile. She was able to taste some of the things I had eaten while on my 2008 backpacking pilgrimage in Spain. I liked the Melrose Diner better. When it comes to food and wine I guess I am a peasant at heart. Sunday it was off to Kyle’s Lotus Barn and the PALS (Philadelphia Area Lotus Society, a Lotus Ltd affiliate) party. It was great to see some old friends and meet some new folks too. A bit after 3:00 we left the party to head for home and prepare for another week of work. Thanks to all the folks who provides suggestions on where to go in Philadelphia. There are too many things to do and see. We will have to get back there soon. 22. What is the yellow stinger extending out from the lower trunnion?
  23. I had a set of wobbly webs. My dad threw them out. They wouldn't go on anything I have but would have been great trading material.
  24. I saw these on British Speed. A nice bunch of Sevens at a hill climb. Makes my mouth water. http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f120/seven-heaven-83940/
  25. On the positive side the hidden areas look clean. You have a very nice car.
