  1. Martin - NY roads and the main local autoX(ha ha! rallyX) lot wore 1/4" bolt holes out to 1" wide. so they were taken off to preserve what was left. some fiberglass work for the off season, but some CF pieces may be in the cards since i'm looking for an aeroscreen.
  2. my sunday drive! http://lh5.ggpht.com/_NrdxEwfAR9U/Su8tVWYwT0I/AAAAAAAABYo/oQ7iYCaNrWw/s720/GE8K2319.jpg http://lh5.ggpht.com/_NrdxEwfAR9U/Su5ZTIBabfI/AAAAAAAABXE/xufHcYXFrYo/s720/GE8K3765.jpg http://lh5.ggpht.com/_NrdxEwfAR9U/Su5ZTnUAfDI/AAAAAAAABXI/8lJX9jbdhvc/s720/GE8K3776.jpg
  3. the nausea may be the first sympton of carbon monoxide poisoning. This is a worst case scenario, u just may be very sensitive to a decreased oxygen load in your blood. definitely have the exhaust as far from u as possible. i will be switched from the rear exit to the side exit over the winter. I will just make sure that the tip extends just beyond the tyre so the exhaust has no chance of collecting in the turbulent wake behind the 7. having a bimini/half hood made up is an excellent idea for sun protection as well. driving is stressful, doubly so with our cars and nonobservant city drivers. just havce the car high enough that road debris won't damage the underside. Toe kills tyres. motorsports alignments for motorsport lifetimes.
  4. can't really give a good response w/o knowing what the speedometer was actually on or any other telemetry. its easy to go fast on an exige. excellent tyres, quiet engine w/ a supercharger, and u just stay on the gas in a turn. But Mondo is right, at no time did he look out of control.
  5. I take it this you? http://chrisadolor.smugmug.com/Cars/SCCA-PhiladelphiaSummer-Series/IMG4265-Version-2-Version-2/693004596_kwxwf-M.jpg http://chrisadolor.smugmug.com/Cars/SCCA-PhiladelphiaSummer-Series/IMG4266-Version-2-Version-2/693004748_dKkk4-M.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3583/4044502561_ec956676f6.jpg and i don't beleive Gebhart has had a sex change in the last 2 months http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2591/4044504811_09f3f7eb0e.jpg and how the hell did he end up back in DM? the Beast was turbocharged last time i checked.
  6. teh ZV1s SUCK. 14" tyres are now pretty uncommon in the USA. maybe a set of rt-615 can be found. I spun repeatedly on the stockers, granted it was my first season of autoX, but there was tons more traction when I switched to a real summer tyre. Luckily I started w/ the 15" wheels so i had many options. i'd recomend u trash those next spring an look at getting some RA1/r888 or at a minimum the rt615/ toyo t1r. u'll find that your understeer/oversteer envelope drastically changes. I bet that those tyres are also way past then end of their life as well.
  7. sounds like a Tony V survival kit.
  8. http://inlinethumb24.webshots.com/16343/2536922420099946657S600x600Q85.jpg my shot doublecheck i know my gel coat is coming off from road debris an such.
  9. ^^^^ Intersting. I saw the info on the Fit motors becoming class eligible last month. Yes, it should be better in the long run, though I want to see a full durate 1.6 build before its deemed underpowered.
  10. Morgan, is the gamma off on my LCD or have u not finished the photo yet or the flourescent light?
  11. I'll be tenatively in.
  12. the baseline setup is that its ready to go for autoX and the track. u'll find very limited adjustability in the base parts. since u have the adjustable spring perches u can get corner weighted. castor is adjustable by washers on teh front of the lower A arm. camber is basically set, which will be fine for the r25s. as for wheel offsets, my 15" KN prisoner and 10 spokes are both +14 iirc. as for setup, as wide a tyre as u need and the corresponding wheel width. Lotus/Caterham have been doing this for 50+ years so the formula is pretty solid. The yahoo D/E Mod group is also a good place for info. Figure out which zetec motor u have, the ZX1/2/3 or SVT. power is not as easy as the EVO, but engine management/tune is a start. building the block and heads is the next step. if u have 6" wheels, those would be the best for ur tyres. but as tom said, wider is VERY common. his wheel/tyre dimensions are good. edit: hoping to see a thread in the members rides forum, but there wasn't one. Simplest way to control teh car is with the right foot.
  13. I'll be in town for it, anyone else?
  14. i checked the blatchat threads and all the rollbars are different and needed basically to be measured to make sure the rack would fit the jig that was going to be made. I have bookmarked some pictures from them for a starting point. Also, the rack would be larger than a normal rack 2x205, 2x225 w/ room to expand to 2x225, 2x255 width tyres. the exhaust is my major concern. I actually ended up w/ my first FTD in between repair jobs.
  15. 1. fix exhaust mounts. ASAP. hopefully as soon as i'm back from ALMS next week i can fab up something. 3 autoXs left this season. 2. fix (or buy CF front wings) front wings. silver dollar sized holes got honed thru the fiberglass by the crappy NY roads and bumpy AX lot. been running w/o them for almost a month. a friend may help me repair the fiberglass, but the there are many cracks in the gel coat. probably relegate them to AX duty but they don't really get damaged from cones. I will have to examine teh motor mounts closely because of teh rubber failing in the exhaust mounts. fluid changes as well. hopefully attach the poppers for the half doors. I found a shop locally that interested on working on Snake Bit so they will 3. fab a cone bar for the passenger side 4. install the quick release steering column if I still can not. 5. fab a wheel/tyre rack that attaches to teh roll bar. 6. reattach a popper base for the boot cover
  16. has Cherik broken 100k?
  17. congrats on the almost car. i suspect i won't be able to see it until the springtime.
  18. oh god this is awesome. i hope to see Dave Lehman announce Solo nationals next year.
  19. a small bubble level on that and ur set.
  20. If u ddin't have the car re-alligned since the initial one, its probably still the same. There really no room for the allignment to change less u go wild w/ fabrication like Norm B. I think Loren has hit the nail on the head. U not seeing the violen inputs of autoX on these tyres since they've only been to a trackdate so ur not onto the outside edge. I suspect as a track novice 8" up front and 9" in the rear is probably better suited for the inpts that are needed. IIRC ur r888s are closer to those sizes. And if u feel it neccessary. i will wera the outside edges of the r25b for u next season. I should be recieving a set of well used A6s that i will use for a Evo school that u can have afterwards.
  21. shifter kart. course, u have illegal aero for f125.
  22. should be moved to the autoX forum. You were in B Mod because of the motorcycle engine and 7 style body. If u build to the D/E Mod ruleset and substitute a motorcycle drivetrain, u are a B Mod car. wings/spoiliers outside the silouette from above would bump u into A mod.
  23. i'll wave as our planes cross.:leaving:
  24. finally got in the car after 3 weeks. took into work this weekend. seem more comfortable than my tin top
