  1. Hey Guys, for those of you who haven't left yet, Make sure you bring a bathing suit. I'm thinking that I may be spending the afternoon in the pool rather than in my driving suit. Especially if the battery to my Cool shirt pump runs out. :cooldude: Happy hour may start a little early if this heat doesn't break a little. Those of you who left and are getting in early can hit the local mall and pick up a suit if you need to. Tom
  2. Atta Boy Steve!!! First drink is on me. Now I have to pick up my new slicks, load the truck, Trailer and beat you there. Croc is holding down the fort tomorrow, I'll get there in the early AM on Wednesday See you all soon. Tom
  3. Kitcat, Croc is right, Call me and I'll give you other directions that should cut off a lot of miles from even Crocs recommendations. All trailer friendly. Tom
  4. Tom just make sure you pack an extra set of underwear. That beast you are bringing may bring out the worst. :jester: Safe Travels see you soon Tom
  5. Lobster truck in Milford has some really good lobster rolls. YUM.
  6. No lowered floors on that one.
  7. I had a similar experience the first time I sat in an S3. the dealer took out the seat bottom and put in a piece of foam. That allowed me to get lower in the car and legs no longer hit the steering wheel. I'm only 6'1" though. I now have an S3 and an SV. I like the snug fit of the S3 but do appreciate the bigger footwell of the SV. The SV has lowered floors and the prior owner was 6'8". I built a foam bead seat for the S3 which is only a bead or two thick and that really helped get me lower and avoid the knee banging the steering wheel. Maybe you should go back and pull out the seat bottom cushion and try it again. Good luck. Tom
  8. Shane, you better reread the NJMP tech inspection guidelines, specifically section 7 L. " All Holes in the bodywork must be filled" hopefully you can remedy that issue in the next week. :bs: :jester: Tom
  9. We are now just TWO weeks away from the start of our annual NJMP trackday event. Mike and I are finalizing some of the final logistical details and will update you on them once we are set. A few our long time participants have informed us that regrettably due to some personal and mechanical issues that they will be unable to join us this year but hope to be back next year. So it looks like I've lost my bet with Mike and we will be short of my guess of 30 cars. Oh well, with a little luck maybe next year. We still have a great group of cars and drivers, so the party will still be a blast. Don't forget to register! Current attendee list: 1. Tom G 4. Len C 5. George H 6. Tom C 7. Paul 8. Mike M 9. Blake 10. Dan F 11. Graham 12. Seb 13. Jeff H 14. Fred M 15. Steve M (Do we get the Mallock or Caterham this year?) Caterham! 16. Jim A 17. Scott L 18. Mike S 19. Jay 20. Simon W. 21. Chris S. 22. 10. Or just come on up and run with the rest of the se7ens at NJMP. Just don't follow Shane. :jester: We can start you off in a no passing Novice group if you've never done HPDE's before. Last Year, Jay started in the Novice group and was able to join us in the all 7s sessions on day two. Tom
  11. Wow Roman, that's disappointing. I would have thought that a year would have been plenty of time to get R done. :jester: We will miss you. I'll let the flaggers know that they can relax a bit this year. :smilielol5:
  12. I like this one too. Love the music.
  13. I just registered and I have to say that Croc did an amazing job with the powers that be, to set up a beautifully simple signup process. Great Job Mike. One Month out now!!! Hope everyone is finished or finishing up preparations. I just got a new set of tires that I have to get mounted on Orange, and I went to start up Yellow and discovered I need to install a new Battery. DUH. But Other than that, I'm ready. Should be another great event. Anyone who hasn't done Thunderbolt, are in for a treat. Watch a few YouTube videos of the circuit to get a sense of it. It does help. And like I said before, we will do a few lead/follow laps for those that need it. See you all Soon. Tom
  14. Hi Dermot, I think Scott would also be one who might be a potential roomie. If you don't have his email, let me know. Hope to see you in 1 month. :driving: Tom
  15. Jay, just keep turning right, you'll be fine, 10 out of 12 times. :jester: the other two times you might be on the grass. We usually do a few lead follow laps for those new to the track. taking it slowly then increasing the speed. By lap 3 or 4 most feel confident enough to handle it. Tom this is a good example of what happens if you turn in too early on turn 3. :svengo:
  16. yeah, don't drive in the rain. No way are you going to be able to get in unless you were a gymnast in your youth and are still double jointed. Seriously. Tom

  23. Congrats on your new Cat. If its a 2001, you may want to check the expiration dates on your Harnesses. Some Tracks require in Date harnesses. Same for Helmet date. Arm restraints are often required as well. Do a complete Nut and bolt check. Things shake loose on these cars often. Roll bar height above your helmet can also be an issue, you can remove the bottom cushion and put some foam, etc to get you lower. Make sure your tires are good. Brake pedal feel on my two cars is firm and firmer. MYMV. Car should not leak. Positive battery post should have a cover or tape over it. Torque your wheel nuts. Tires should have around 18 psi cold to start IMO. Don't forget to put fuel in it and check it after a couple sessions, running out of fuel is frowned upon. Check your bearings for any sloppiness. Keep it on track and have FUN. Tom
  24. Shane, it's probably a show pony, probably wouldn't make one lap.. :leaving: :troll: Tom But show ponies are more than welcome to come join in the fun of course.
  25. Hi Mike, yes it was Orange. Yellow has been very solid for 18 years now. Orange is another story. Nothing is stock like Yellow, and everything is top of the line and complicated. As you have said before, you spend some time getting the car right after you buy them. I'm taking Orange to George Alderman to have it corner weighted and set up for me next week. I've never felt confident pushing it on track. Yellow sticks like it's on a rail. And George set up Yellow. Hopefully I'll be able to use a little more of all that power. Hope your solutions work. See you soon. Can't wait for our annual discussion. Tom
