    I'm guessing an F2000. Tom
  2. Sounds like a simple plan to me, Finish your project, sell it to Croc and buy his Caterham SV. Easy Peasy. Tom:hurray:
  3. Glen, Make Croc an offer. and set up a payment plan over then next 50 years. He'll go for that. :jester: You know you are a Se7ener at heart. Tom
  4. Croc doesn't cut corners. His cars are all professionally maintained and track tested so you know it is a nice solid car. I hope it stays local and joins us on track at NJMP. Tom
  5. Probably won't help anyone as I think I may be the lone Caterham/Se7en with a paddle shift system, but I have been struggling with an issue since the Seven's Trackdays at NJMP where my car would get stuck in a gear or refuse to shift into Neutral or refuse to shift at all. The system is a pneumatically driven, with a couple of micro switches in the paddles that sends the signal to the brain and activates the pneumatic solenoids. It's a really slick system, that allows flat clutchless up shifts and blips to match revs on the down shifts. On track it is awesome!!! WHEN IT WORKS. The devil is in the complexity. Simon450 has been helping me with the pneumatic issues which is some condensation build up that affects the solenoids from activating. But there was also an electrical issue that was preventing the solenoids from getting a signal at all. The problems being intermittent added to the frustration. Two week ago after a full 25 minute track session, where it ran great, coming into the paddock, it wouldn't shift into Neutral. then after it went into Neutral, wouldn't shift up or down. It wasn't until I removed the steering wheel and turned it over when it clicked and then would go into gear, We traced it to a section of the harness about 4 inches in from the plug that the removable steering wheel cable attached on the harness side of the connection. Bad news was that the wires were 26 gauge and used a Deustch type plug and pin which we didn't have. But the pins came in and connections fixed so today I had it out for the full 4 sessions today with no issues at all. Shifting as it should. Made driving a pleasure when not having to worry whether it would shift everytime I pulled on the paddles. Thanks for letting me vent. Tom
  6. Great Job Todd, but you're supposed to sandbag a bit to make them think you got lucky. Now they will probably load you down with 100 lbs of lead. :jester: sorry I didn't make it out, had a wedding in south Delaware and just got back home now. Hopefully I'll make it out next year. Congrats again! :hurray: Tom
  7. Gonna miss you on track Michael. Keep in touch. Tom
  8. Congrats! Hate too see a nice car like that leave the philly area, but hopefully you will give it the exercise it deserves. Enjoy it! Tom
  9. After spending two weeks plus with him, I could do without hearing from him for a while. :smilielol5: Thankfully, he's off on another one of his driving adventures, so we might be lucky and not hear from him for another week or two. The guy never works, it's just one vacation after another. :jester: Tom
  10. Hopefully, you will bring it out to play at one our upcoming member days. Tom
  11. Jerry, congrats on the sale, and condolences on your loss. I always loved your color choices, as I'm partial to yellow anyway. My wife keeps telling me I should sell the yellow one, but since it was the one I built and it is so easy to drive, I just can't bring myself to sell it. Two sevens in the garage just seems so nicely balanced anyway. :flag: Take Care. Tom
  12. We'll at least one is still there. The other is now home. My pockets weren't deep enough to stay more than one night, Plus I'm afraid of heights.:nopity:
  13. Sorry. I thought you were in Pa. Good Luck. Tom
  14. We'll if you pass the initial state Special constructed Vehicle inspection process and get your sticker, then next year you can just go to a regular inspection station and I suspect that by then those lights you have put on will have fallen off and you might just have to put the original caterham ones back on. Worked for me. :jester:
  15. Looking Great Shane. Get R done!!! :hurray: Tom
  16. A couple more
  17. Here are a few before and after pictures of the repair.
  18. Here are a few before and after pictures from the process.
  19. Thx Mike, I'll pay for the shipping if you are willing to send them. I'm planning on getting the car recornerweighted and set up to see if I can get it to handle more like my yellow car.
  20. I've been filling and sanding for the last few days. I reattached the inner flange which gave it back it's structural rigidity. I've filled all of the external cracks and have sanded them down and other than one more attempt to fill in a few low spots, which I'll do tonight, I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out. After I fill the low spots I'll sand again and then sand with progressively finer grit down to 2000. After that I plan to hit it with a light coat of clear just to bring back a little gloss. I'll post some pictures once I finish it. Again, any other suggestions let me know. Tom
  21. F unny, I've been sanding away all last night and some this morning. It won't be show quality like Croc's wings which are real purty. But structurally it is coming along nicely. I ordered some 14 inch wide 1x1 carbon to match and the biggest exterior crack, while reinforced from the inside, looks ugly on the outside. I think I'm going to try to cover from the rear light position down to the bottom edge with a sheet of the wide stuff. Only downside is that the epoxy is really clear and shiny and the original wing is pretty dull. I guess I could just take some 1000 grit sandpaper and take the shine off so it somewhat matches. For the track it should be fine. I still need to make a set of the wider front wings and extend the wing stays like you did to be able to fit the big hoosiers on. Yeah it does suck getting older, but considering the alternative, eh not so much. Key is to keep having fun. We would love to see you again next year. Start making plans with your wife. Croc is talking about changing the date to get us on Thunderbolt. We have to wait and see what next year's member dates and track assignments are before we can say for sure. But I'm betting that we will get close to or exceed 30 cars next year. Hope to see you and your wife again. Tom
  22. Thanks Mike. I've done my yellow fiber glass ones before and figured this would be a similar process. I just made a couple paper templates of several patches for inside the flange to reinforce and repair some cracks. Using parchment paper to soak the piece of carbon fiber and press it into place. then brushed in more epoxy mixture to saturate. Initial small patches seem to be setting up nicely. Once these are done, then I'm going to work on the rest of the flange before I epoxy that back into place. Then I will work on the larger cracks and dings that the exterior of the wing incurred. It won't win any awards for it's shininess like Crocs wings. But it should hold up ok. When are you going to come back up to NJMP and run with us again? Tom
  23. Steve, I seem to recall that there was also a third piece, the handbrake cover. So where pray tell is currently being hung. :jester:
  24. Thanks for the tips. Keep em Coming! Tom
  25. Hi Shane, yeah, it's always the weakest link that breaks. Hopefully you are healing well and will eventually be pain free. If not you can always change careers and become a weather forecaster. :jester: Now get to work on the Storker and get it ready for next year at NJMP. We miss you. Tom
