rcollum
I think it's appropriate that the first place I post a picture of this car is on this forum, since I found this car via Croc's "lots of Sevens for sale" thread. Thanks for that! I've been on the Seven periphery for a long while. I have owned two Lotus, a '72 Europa Twincam for 21 years (sold in 2001), and still have the '07 Elise we bought new in 2007. I've known I wanted a Seven since I first drove one, probably over 20 years ago. Circumstances finally fell into place recently, and my wife is as excited about the new purchase as I am! My first order of business is to find a rear license plate frame, since I have the rear plate light fixture, but can't see a way to mount a plate. --Bob Collum

locost7018
Where are you? Is there a place for a spare tire? Maybe the license plate holder was on that. Russ

yellowss7
Just stick it on with Double sided tape. Don't drill any holes in that pretty shiny aluminum. Tom
rcollum
It has the DeDion rear, a Zetec SVT engine, and a 5-speed. 14" wheels. Never had a spare - just looks like the bracket that should hold the rear plate is missing.Did our first blat today, filled the tank, and took it to a Highway Patrol weigh station. Full tank, no driver - 1320 lbs! (My Europa was 1475 lbs, and my Elise is 1975 lbs.) I can see that my wife will be wanting to drive this every weekend!--Bob Collum Edited August 14, 2015 by rcollum
DeanG
Congratulations. Nice car. Next time we meet I expect to see bugs in your teeth and elbows.
scannon
Congrats on the new car! A fellow here with a new Caterham had a plastic license plate made. You can only tell it is not the original if you touch it or notice there aren't any bolt holes in the plate. It is even reflective like the real ones. It had a sticky back and is just stuck on the car.

breezy7
Bob: that is my car that I sold a couple of years ago. I mounted the plate to the license plate light. Take out the center screw that holds the lens and you will see holes in the backing bracket. I drilled corresponding holes in the license and mounted the plate to the bracket. I used a plastic frame to hold the plate as well, just cut out the section of the frame where it meets the light. Mike

lucky dawg
Go to an auto body supply store (or online) and buy a roll of body side molding tape. It is just the right thickness to move the license plate slightly away from the car body, is very strong, and long lasting. Be sure to leave an opening at each corner so water can easily drain out. MichaelD
Bob, Welcome to the other side. I think Croc & Tom might be able to arrange a Shine Off at the next 7s at NJMP. You and your wife will love it. Hope to see that beautiful car in person soon.
