drewbrese Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Hi Everybody, I am the new owner of a 1978 Caterham. Not necessarily the Caterham I envisioned myself driving but since it was currently registered and inspected in Massachusetts I couldn't resist. Plus the previous owner and shop that has worked on the car are nearby. Supposedly the short history of the car from the previous owner is that he purchased it off the floor of the NY Auto Show in the 70's as it was being built, brother who lived in Long Island at the time picked it up for him but raced it locally instead of delivering it to the owner in Massachusetts, he eventually acquired it many years later, fixed it up a bit as well as adding a turbocharged motor, and ultimately sold it to me. Looking forward to lots of great miles ahead. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=13968&stc=1 http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=13970&stc=1 http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=13969&stc=1
Croc Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Congratulations on your purchase. You bought through the Vintage Race Car Sales - Kim Baker. I saw the ad surface and it caught my eye for a bunch of reasons - turbo, polished ali, metal front and rear wings, etc. Its a striking looking car. Looks like you will need to let the snow melt before you really try out the driving experience!
panamericano Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Great looking car. I'm a sucker for all that alloy. Emjoy!
drewbrese Posted April 1, 2018 Author Posted April 1, 2018 The bare aluminum body definitely makes an already unusual car to see on the roads around here stand out even more.
xcarguy Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Congrats. The car has COOL written all over it. Can we see the turbo...please?
ukchris Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Beautiful car. Congratulations! Where abouts in MA are you? I’m just over the line in NH.
drewbrese Posted April 2, 2018 Author Posted April 2, 2018 I am located in Central Massachusetts. I'll follow up with turbo pics soon.
