Croc
V The car is going up on jack stands and if easy the fenders will be removed for easy access. I'll then go through the suspension and brakes with a fine tooth comb. Anker - while the car is up, check what the previous owner used to attach the rear wings/fenders to the body. Should be small nylon plastic bolts or fixings. Not metal type. The logic is that if you are autocrossing, attending a track day or just meadering along the road and hit something (orange cone, small animal, etc) with the rear wings then the nylon bolts let go without puckering up the sheet ali on the body. Repair is then easier and cheaper. Easy thing to see and fix.
Anker
Thank you, Roger, I will be doing both, so I'll check that. It does have a deflector bracket in fromt of the right rear wing. Easy to replace. We did the same with radio control model airplanes, for the same reason. Better to break a bolt than rip the plane apart! Black Hole
a Tillet seat is that fitted in an SV? Which Tillett is ideal for an SV. The one downside I have with the SV is the standard seats don’t hold me in position and I am not a nice press fit like I am in an S?

Black Hole
I haven’t installed mine yet if you want to try it out sometime before it’s in the car? yes, I would like to try a test fitting. I can use a wider seat in my car if yours are tight. Which model did you get?
Croc
is that fitted in an SV? Which Tillett is ideal for an SV. The one downside I have with the SV is the standard seats don’t hold me in position and I am not a nice press fit like I am in an S? Hi Jay! Yes - its fitted to my 420R. Its a B7XL-47 with edges cut which makes it 43cm wide. If I did not cut the edges it would be 47cm wide. I used the TB1 brackets for mounting. The width is the critical measure - the SV maximum acceptable seat width is 47cm or 18.5 inches. Now you want a little clearance around the sides as you would otherwise carve up the interior side walls with scratches as the seat flexes slightly. Thats why I ended up with the edges cut on the 47cm seat. Going from the catalog here: https://www.tillett.co.uk/shop/documents/downloads/TILLET_CAR_BROCHURE_2020_WEB.pdf There are a lot of Tillett seats that will fit an SV/CSR (do not use for a Caterham S3): - B7XL-47 with edges cut 43cm - B1 is standard rolled edges is 44.5cm - B2 was standard for the Caterham CSR Superlight (same dimensions as the SV) - 44.5cm (using the rolled edges) - B4 comes in 40 or 43cm seat width. 40 will fit an S3 Caterham. 43cm will fit an SV. I personally find this seat reclines me too much - 50/60 degree seat angle is better - B6 screamer is in 40 and 44cm widths so that works - B6XL Screamer 43 (i.e. a 47 with edges cut for clearance) will fit - Bruce at Beachman Racing said to me once he has used it before. I started with this one in my fitting session at Tillett but found I prefered the B7 seat design comfort. - B6 40 and 44 regular plus B6XL 43 seem to work You can also buy the Tillett seat runners but everyone I know adapts the Caterham seat runners by drilling an extra hole - thats what my 420R ended up as. The lead times on Tilletts are pretty horrific so you will have to see what the US dealer has in stock currently. ONe alternative if he does not have anything in stock is to buy off Caterham directly - Tillett make the seats and then Caterham private label them. https://caterhamparts.co.uk/seats/3024-seat-csr-alcantara-carbon-fibre.html?search_query=seat&results=78 https://caterhamparts.co.uk/seats/6258-seat-carbon-composite-sv.html?search_query=seat&results=78 https://caterhamparts.co.uk/seats/6794-seats-carbon-padded-620r-sv.html?search_query=seat&results=78 The second alternative for seats is Reverie - another dangerous website with seven goodies. https://www.reverie.ltd.uk/seats.php I suggest you measure your car to confirm sizing then go comparing. fastg
I have 4 things on my winter list, apart from normal maintenence. My first planned outing is early April at Summit Point. 1. Full roll cage DONE 2. Swap fuel tank setup, after three changes to the fueling system using just a Aluminum box tank I gave up, I was never able to get rid of the occasional stutter, As I want to give the power a big boost (next winters project) this was not exceptable. So after tanking to Dan Lipperini I went for a twin tank setup, 2 4 gallon tanks. DONE 3. Remove the pedal box and add a brake light switch, I do not trust the hydraulic pressure switch I am currently using. They are know to be unreliable and it's in a real tricky place should it need replacing, plus you have to bleed the rear brake so it's not a quick swap. STARTED 4. Modify inlet manifold to stop it being water cooled, part of an ongoing project to lower inlet air temps. All parts on hand.

Croc
I should clarify. The seat is just a seat - no frame or other hardware. You need the hardware to attach seat to car. I used the TBF1 brackets (inward facing) as they are designed for the seat I bought the B7XL (plus the B6) https://www.tillett.co.uk/shop/exd-TB-F1-Aluminium-brackets-pair.asp?id=638 The slider/runner is still useful for moving the seat forward and back - you just have to drill an extra mount hole in the Caterham runners to accommodate the Tillett brackets. You can always use the Tillet mounts direct to floor but then pre-supposes only you will ever drive your car. Other seats will use different brackets - probably TBFIA or TB1 given the seating options you have available to you.
wemtd
Jay - I ordered a B6-40cm, which mounts through bottom holes. It's nicely wrapped up in my attic right now. it's going to be a tight fit but i think with a little flexing i'll be able to squeeze it into place. IIRC your caterham is slightly wider than my birkin so you should have more options.

I’ll need more options if you will be a tight fit! Fortunately I have an SV. did you get your car out when it hit 60? I was in VT skiing so I missed the opportunity
wemtd
Ha! I still needed to re-pin my O2 sensor. I was putting things back together and moving it into winter position. Besides there is salt residue on the roads and I haven’t installed the seat.
coffee break
Just some minor fettling. I am in the process of replacing the intake gasket and noticed one of the dizzy cap retaining clips was missing. So, where do I find a clip for a Lucas? Anker
Worst case you can make your own from spring steel. You can get a constant tension spring from McMaster for very little money and use it to make several clips.
