I’ll be there. Thanks Mike and Tom. Hopefully still with some tires. Not easy getting Avons these days.  Trying to win NO awards this year!!

Hoping to see Catkong as well.

  • 2 weeks later...

It is highly unlikely I will be able to come. My wife broke her ankle a week ago. It was set and the swelling is down enough for it to be operated on tomorrow. She doesn't see the surgeon again until the 24th. Missing two things I was really looking forward to. This event and going to Octoberfest.

The Mallock has once again thrown me a curveball, this time with the differential.  So…. I may be attending.

No actual diagnosis yet for the diff, or a plan of action.  But I’m doubtful I’ll get it fixed in a month.

Carl, hopefully your wife will be good as new after the surgery. Take good care of her.   Twenty two years ago my kit arrived and I had to go rent a truck to pick the boxes up at customs.   Apparently a box of stuff I ordered from Pegasus was delivered to the fro t door and my wife stepped on it when she went out the door breaking her ankle.   I couldn’t be there to take her to the hospital.  I am still in the doghouse.  😜

Steve, we will hopefully see you then.  It wouldn’t be the same without you. 🤞. Tom

Oops!  That does explain a lot of why her Majesty has control of the vacation budget.

Now if it were me I'd suggest Carl give his wife a vacation with a relative for the weekend but there is a reason I get along better with cars than women....   Hope everything goes smoothly Carl and the recovery process is quick and not painful.

My wife of 53 years is do good. With 11 screws and a plate, I guess she has more titanium parts than anyone's Caterham. The 9th of August is a good and bad day. It is our anniversary and the day she had breast cancer surgery and her ankle put back together. So far two of the three turned out fine, I am confident this one will as well.

Hi. New member here. Am considering bringing my 1965 Lotus Super 7 for the Sept 18 event. Have run the Lightning course twice before.

I have two questions:

1. Are HANS neck restraints now required? The only place I saw them mentioned was at the bottom of the Tech Inspection Form.

2. How do you handle registration of two drivers for one car? May invite my son-in-law along as a second driver.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Jeremy,  Hans are NOT required.  5 or 6 point in date harnesses ARE required and checked at Tech.

As for two drivers,  by policy each driver would need to register.  But if you have a street car as well as the Seven then the other driver could run in either the green or white group, so that you each get the five full sessions each day.

I am planning on going to the track this Friday. I will ask the operations manager if they will allow one registration for the two of you as you will just get the five runs total sharing the car.    No promises as it’s a long shot. But I will give it a shot.  I’ll post the answer once I get one.   Tom

I plan to be there again this year, after having so much fun last year how could I not attend!

Boat projects have been eating up all my time so I will need to take the car for a shake down (and blow off the fiberglass dust) to make sure everything is still up to snuff. I installed a new fuel tank sender gasket so less chance of fireworks on the track this year hopefully...

See y'all there.

Welcome back Justin.  Croc just told me Kevin just signed up as well.  It’s looking like we will have 13-15 cars at this point assuming Steve and Roman can make it.  Still room for more as 15 cars on a 2.2 mile track is not crowded at all.  Again our run group will be Sevens only which is unique at most track events.

Vlad And Carl hopefully we will see you next year.  Tom.

Pending issues outside of my control I plan to be there every year for as long as the event is on!

I'm planning to come as a guest.

Is this event family friendly?  I've got 2,5, and 7 year olds.  Cost for guests?

I'll be corrected if im wrong but im fairly certain spectators are free, just will all need to sign a waiver upon entry and you don't get any of the lunch accomodations.

Familys are welcome but will likely need ear protection from the cars and sailor mouthed drivers.
