No good deed goes unpunished

Booked all the way back in February. Nice and early for a Villa

Just got a notification that the Villa is sold and my reservation is cancelled. They said they have no more Villas for rent at all as they are all sold without owners wanting to rent.

Luckily was able to rebook on the VIP suite on the straightaway. Not ideal with the family but butter than hotel offtrack.

Both days events being on Thunderbolt make it convenient to run back as needed.

Worst case you can dirtbag camp with me!

Just over 3 weeks remaining before our Sevens gathering at NJMP.  Hopefully everyone has sorted out your cars.
I finally got my car back this week.  I’ve not had it out yet but I’m scheduled for a track day on Friday.  I had an issue that left the car not able to shift.  My compressor would not shut off and the paddles weren’t working. Luckily it was just the pressure sensor which was an easy fix once the problem was isolated.  Fingers crossed.  Looking forward to seeing everyone.  Tom

Need to cut up my seat and put the bottom strap in.

I'm not going to have my car ready for this event, but I would like to attend anyway and hang around with all the cool folks. How do I register to do that?

I see six as of today. Simon will be there so we still need a few more for them to give us our own run group.   Hopefully more will sign up shortly. Please don’t wait until the last day as they will cancel us out if we don’t have at least 10 signed up.   Tom

You can register as a guest on motorsportreg.com.  Or you can also probably show up at registration before the drivers meeting and register as a guest and that gets you breakfast and lunch.   Croc should be responding shortly if he’s awake😝

I will get registered. Car is ready if I don't break it at Dominion this Saturday. I got a Simpson Hybrid and am having a hard time getting it to fit.

Guests can register on the day in person.  Motorsportreg is only for those driving who have (or have not) got guests.

Well TRS gamble on my new belts has lead to some disappointment.

I expected 3in shoulders during order but got 2in. Was convinced that 2in is a better operation for Hans. Sure. Wish I was talked into 2in before ordering but whatever.

Next the cam buckle for TRS is plastic on outer surface which just feels chinsy especially compared to the premium cost.

But fine I can overlook this too.

Last and worst part is that the cam buckle is locked to the crutch strap, so that means that even for street use I would need to use all 6 to have a lock at all (instead of just using 4 for street) and the only way to adjust the main buckle is by removing the seat if I have somebody of a different height try to drive the car. This is just stupid. I've had the seat in an out 3 times already trying to find the perfect length because there are no sliding adjusters on the crutch strap, just at the mount.

I thought you were going to identify some catastrophic problem, like they changed their color scheme to feature yellow.  See this video on how to reposition the fixed buckle:

Oh. Didn't know this was possible. Don't think I'll attempt it before a track day soon and risk messing it up but maybe for next year I'll swap it over.

Thank you

With that said, no yellow to be found. Small victory.

On my Schroth you can I set a pin to release the crutch strap. Is this an option to disengage it if you want for street use?

I don't think there are any options on this. I have to take it apart and mess with hardware.

After the track day over the winter I'll be putting my OEM harness back in for street duties so it's not that big of a concern. Just very annoying to set properly to begin with and discover that it's an issue I didn't expect to have.
