  1. Manshoon, I sure hope everyone thinks the photo really IS a joke. Some people have no sense of humor sometimes. Your killing us!!!
  2. I was lucky enough to visit here http://www.microcarmuseum.com/ before the auction. Try the Virtual Tour. Microcars were good for the time frame they existed in. Now days, macroamericans have no chance fitting in microcars. Besides, who wants to be mashed into a grill of a Escalade?
  3. Hmmm, the sound of crickets
  4. Here's another tire change stunt....on a motorcycle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pxVuqIoHBQ
  5. slngsht, You've been puttin' OT on this fern invasion. :smash: Congress hasn't figured out how to seal the borders, I think you be doin' OK. :banghead: You go man! :auto:
  6. If you passed the "broom stick" test, it was a funny looking one. :smilielol5:
  7. The inch seems to be a standard for some stuff. I got to pondering this as I was grabbing some sockets out of the tool box. Socket drive sizes are 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" and up". What does the guy in Europe or Japan find in his tool box. Then there are rim sizes, in inches also. Anyone know the history? :bigear:
  8. FWIW... My car had these on it when I bought it...(the previous set were the original and way too old, not worn out) SUMITOMO HTR A/S P01 185/60R14 M&S I think TIRE RACK has a rating on them. I am only doing dry street driving with no complaints.
  9. There was a Honda Odyssey used on the USA version of Top Gear that was kick a$$.
  10. Paul Van Valkenberg did an article in Road & Track about 30 years ago. The rear drive 2-1 set would start with mild understeer and progress to big understeer. The 1-2 was even worse. I don't recall if 2-1 FWD was discussed, but it would be better than RWD. Either 2-1 would require a STIFF anti-roll bar. I think 4 tires beats 3, as long as they are on the ground.
  11. When I need to clean up the brush in the backyard, I crank this baby up. http://www.chonday.com/Videos/excamuoich2
  12. "Content Warning Sorry, this content is age-restricted." was displayed. Say what? Am I too old?
  13. Interesting demonstration, I remember studying this in machine design. Way back in time when a 4 banger was also a calculator and slide rules were still used.
  14. Boooooooogus! :bs:
  15. I think rich is on the problem. You could pull the alternator and take it by a auto parts shop, they have testers.
  16. OK, ya got me. 'Round here the cops are too busy ignoring texters and the like. On top of all the traffic laws on the books, we have a "slow poke" law. If you are driving the speed limit in the left lane you can get a ticket. Like that will ever happen. :toetap05:
  17. Somewhere in a thread I recall seeing a photo of a plate that had been folded. The stamped numbers were the only thing I saw. It was mounted low in a spoiler kind'a way. :smash:
  18. At the time I got my policy, my daughter was in the house and under 25. She was excluded, no problem.
  19. My car is insures thru Heacock Classic. They insures the car with the previous owner. They have the 3000 mile limit also, but I have not been asked to verify my actual mileage. It's not a problem, I'm under 1000 a year so far. I looked at another classic insurer, but their information made it sound like I could only drive to car shows only. My policy allows pleasure driving (the whole point):auto:, so it is a second car. Also, the car must be garaged in a secure location, ie inside. The cost is reasonable. PM for contact info. Good luck.
  20. I guess each situation/application has its' own particular conditions. I have an unmodified* xflow and it is used for street driving. In my use of the car, I'm not flogging it 100% of the time. For those who track any type of car, they will be incurring greater stresses and increase their need for service and rebuilding. I have recently installed wrap and have observed two things so far. Less heat radiating on the driver and a single "backfire" after shutdown. After I turn the motor off, there is a single low energy "pop". It takes 3 seconds to occur. Kinda funny. :jester: *(unmodified except for the header wrap)
  21. What kind of stresses should I be concerned about?
  22. Even if you win the rat race, you're still a rat. :ack:
