1. Vov - Nice seat! You could also get the sued seat pad to avoid seeing scratches. As for my car: I’m doing a whole lot of nothing. My new seat is 90% installed. However while on a short drive around the neighborhood last week the ECU’s ignitor module gave up the ghost. Should be under warranty; nevertheless once again I have no vroom vroom, and am waiting on the postman.
2. John. I'm not sure about the oil pump. WRT the water outlet... My experiences with the 2.0L Duratec is there are (at least) two versions of the engine: one made by ford, one by Mazda. As far as I've been able to determine the Mazda version had a plastic water outlet connector (for which there is a groove to accept the rubber gasket with the little tab on it). The other is the Ford cast aluminum water outlet connector (or visa-versa). Not to be outdone: in their catalogs both plastic & aluminum water outlet connectors have the same part number. I learned this the hard way; and was only able to sort this out by finding a ford dealership who had both parts in stock. The difference in the catalog was only identified by price difference (same part # again). When I imposed on the clerk to put his hands on both parts for me: he returned to the phone after 15 minutes to report that indeed there was a difference. For better or worse I've always used a nice bead of RTV to seal mine. Good luck p.
3. I got a B6 without the edges: their narrowest model. It can also be ordered with a “Caterham cut” where they further cut down the sides adjacent to your outer thigh. as ordered it's 40cm wide, the space in my car is ~38cm. After much fettling of the mounting bracket and some custom spacers from TBox i've been able to use the Birkin slider without adding any height. Just like the passenger seat in 'Orange' it is very comfortable, however even narrower (I can barely fit). A short drive around my neighborhood yesterday felt good without the cushion pads installed. Unfortunately I awoke to this joke.... So if they've salted the roads it'll be another week before I can take a proper drive. p.
4. After excessive fettling I’ve squeezed a Tillett into my narrow body Birkin S3. It looks good from test fits with my head substantially lower in the car than I could ever achieve by previously removing the seat cushions. Expectedly- my battery was dead...

Coronavirus

Thanks mike - sounds like you need to take shelter in your garage...
6. Have you double checked the steering shaft universal joints?
7. V. time to go Locost and make your own... unless Mario has an inside angle (IIRC he had 7 grill covers made up previously)
8. Agreed. Just as well that we aren’t scheduled for NJMP until this fall! At my current rate of progress I may get my seat installed just in time.
9. FWIW i have a stock duratec and a NipponDenso starter labeled for a kubota tractor or forklift. So part #'s may not line up.
10. I dipped into alternator wiring a few years ago when the smoke leaked out of my system: your plug looks like the NipponDenso voltage regulator on my alternator. There are many types of voltage regulators out there based on the vehicle and how it's wired. IIRC your picture looks like a 1 wire output with three spade (L)ight, (I)gnition, (S)ensing connector. Most of which are optional for our cars per my alternator boffin. So If it ain't broke, don't fix it: I wouldn't worry too much over this detail. If you don't see the terminal labels unscrew the alternator's back cover and research the voltage regulator item #. p.
11. Not yet
12. J. IIRC I ordered from ec fiberglass before Shipping wasn’t bad. But I ordered a dozen to have spares on hand (which have come in handy for other projects) Ps: would you still like To try out my Tillett for size? P.
13. I think he’s added lightness
14. FYI - se7en themed shirts are back up on https://www.blipshift.com/
15. Ha! I still needed to re-pin my O2 sensor. I was putting things back together and moving it into winter position. Besides there is salt residue on the roads and I haven’t installed the seat.
16. Jay - I ordered a B6-40cm, which mounts through bottom holes. It's nicely wrapped up in my attic right now. it's going to be a tight fit but i think with a little flexing i'll be able to squeeze it into place. IIRC your caterham is slightly wider than my birkin so you should have more options.
17. I haven’t installed mine yet if you want to try it out sometime before it’s in the car?
18. xcar. Send him with Larry, just remember to call school daily and say he's still sick.
19. Just for those pictures I think the "poo brown" and "Crimson" polisher awards both need reassignment to Croc
20. Croc: Dumb question, but what does it mean to "Federalize on import"? Do not pass go, do not collect $200, Go straight to Leavenworth? P
21. There are others as well... my car has a Haltech. Tbox is using a Typhoon ECU's in the cars he builds. One advantage is none of these are locked. You just need to find a trustworthy tuner.
22. It would be fun to see him review a storker....
23. Oooh... Road Trip. Regrettable there are such challenges in Durban. While exciting things may move to Eagle !
24. I can’t help but enjoy this Bluetooth discussion as both John and I sit here looking at our engines sitting on the workbench
25. What size trailer does Dan use? IIRC he borrow's his neighbor's a regular box trailer.
