  1. I also ordered my BigHead fasteners from EastCoast Findeglass Great product and service : just order a few spares to have on hand
  2. for my head i have a 3mm rope to my Birkin ball cap. I like the sun glare reduction of the bill, and rope helps retrieval if the wind pulls it off.
  3. Beautiful pictures & nice use for your NY plate Thanks Mike!
  4. I can't remember what works best for a Caterham. But i long ago found the birkin engine/gearbox goes more smoothly lowering down onto a dolly. (I've lost track of how often it's happened)
  5. Being a good Yankee i use cinder blocks & a pair of 4x4's. it lets me adjust the height and prevents lower back strain from bending over.

    Won't start

She runs again :auto: - We traced the problem back to a likely malfunctioning ignition module. The module I arranged to have overnighted to me arrived yesterday; without the module... Phone calls and canceled plans later the part they were supposed to send finally arrived and has fixed the problem. Hooray!
  7. Looks sharp! Can he use the Storker for his driving test?

    Won't start

Update: still won’t start. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: - I’ve spent a little time this week on the phone & plugged in with tech support chasing down gremlins. I’m still waiting for a replacement part to arrive... With any luck it will arrive on time and get my engine running again.

    Won't start

My engine decided to stop running yesterday (seemed to stall at a stop sign). Wouldn't start. No luck with jumper cables. Appeared to have no spark. Today i checked and i'm seeing increased 'miss counter' which seems to be a lack of Home signals registering. I swapped out a different camshaft (and crank) sensor to no avail. Am i correct to think the problem is likely in the wires for camshaft sensor->ecu. or should i be looking elsewhere? thanks :banghead:
  11. IIRC oil fill level is flush with the side plug. It is my understanding that ford designed it to not require fluid exchanges. Dumping half your oil out the tail shaft when you pull the engine does not count as scheduled maintenance. It's just one of those things we all do but the T9 does not require.
  12. Unusually slow... Something must have broken
  13. John. any chance that can be oil fouling the intake from your filter. I previously noted increased oil in my ITB trumpet after cleaning and re-oiling my foam air filter. and that appears to be on cylinder #1?
  14. External lump with return line/pressure regulator in my Birkin
  15. Also try carbuildersolutions www. They have lots of bits & bobs
  16. Bruce - blackhole and I are pretty close by if you need assistance Or when you’re ready for a blat P
  17. Road trip to Oxford CT. Quantum mechanics (John Esposito) is the T9 guy in the northeast
  18. Kiwi: drive to the coast to see haystack rock at Cannon Beach. Rt 101 along the coast is a scenic drive. There is also Mt Hood. I'm sure your colleagues will fill you in on additional touristy things to do Car looks sharp p.
  19. With respect to gas pumps: my Birkin was always very finicky filling up. I had to hold the nozzle at an angle, turned sideways, inserted as far in as possible, and just let a trickle of gas flow. Otherwise gas would splash back onto the nozzle and shut off flow. TBox56 filled me in on the solution: the stock gas tank had a small lip inside the filler at the top of the tank (round hole cut in tank, round pipe welded an an angle = oval mating surface. Trimming this internal lip solved the problem. Check to see if your tank has a similar situation.
  20. vov if you can I've always taken mine out from below (except for an oil slick the first time). i found no amount of wrapping or plugging adequately seals the tail shaft end. The birkin has a removable frame brace beneath the gear box which allows it to be dropped straight down. I'm not sure if your frame allows this or not. Good luck and have fun getting intimate with your cat.
  21. oh my! amazon first offered me a 'smile' popup. And then proceeds to list a 275Gal option for higher spec engines?
  22. Try quantum mechanics in Oxford CT
  23. Yes Kitcat: and if my Duratec weren’t out of tune you’d only be lapping me twice each session
  24. (somewhat off topic) Yellowss7 - I found your seats in Orange to be comfortable and offer more lateral support than my current equipment. However your seats are too wide for my Birkin. Do you know whether the Caterham passenger seat made by Tillett? IIRC your drivers seat is a Tillett - do you have any idea which seat #'s they are? Do you, or anyone, know if the various Tilletts all "fit" similarly aside from seat width? thanks p.
