Things you need to know about the new forum

How do i upload documents the Downloads section? I have other files pertaining to T9 gearbox identification & maintenance i'd like to share with everyone? -
it's been a few years. When i placed my order with East Coast fiberglass the lady said they couldn't ship (assuming hazardous resins). once she saw my order was just for hardware it was no problem.

Check your footwell wall. my car has a access hole you can insert a driver through to reach the gearbox fill hole

What kind of lift & how much celing clearance do you have?

NeoBear welcome to the insanity.. - install an oil cooler from the start. I drive like a granny and needed to put one in this year; and i'm not in SoCal! - install uprated cams before putting the engine in, it'll save you time - sit & ride in a se7en (somewhat doesn't matter which model) just to get a further feel for the car. There is a good chance someone is within an hour or two drive of you who wouldn't mind showing you their car. - are you planning to assemble yourself or have a pro do it? good luck & enjoy the process!

Please explain as I would expect the alternator's voltage regulator to maintain ~14v output when the engine is running?? {I'm not an engineer} p.

Proposal for a new 2021 Sevens HPDE in SC - Gauging interest
wemtd replied to Croc's topic in National Events
Croc - given the window so late in the year I’m intrigued with the prospect for shipping. A great deal will change between now and then so I can not commit with certainty -
I installed schroth flexi 6- point last year and like it for the driver (me). I appreciate the narrower webbing and adjusters better then my previous RJS harness. However the schroth is more expensive. Unless the belts are very worn it may not be terrible considering allowing the buyer to install what they prefer? {in-date 6point for track use, inertia reel or 4point ASM belts for street driving}? - having said that: I for one appreciate the extra safety & security of a 5 or 6 point harness even if just blatting about on public highways. The Extra time and inconvenience getting into the car is well worth the added safety.

John: Sounds about right for something involving se7ens A day (or two or three) are worth it

The highlight of my Sunday afternoon work break is to see what new cars Croc has found... Since I cannot realistically fathom the work you, Mazda, Croc, et al. are doing... I think the suspense of a 24hr delay is worth it. Repeating what has been said: THANK YOU

Tom what is your experience regarding head positioning? I currently have an M-spec helmet which worked well with the Birkin fiberglass sport seats (with head rest pad removed). Last year I squeezed a Tillett B6 40cm seat into my car. I love this seat as it is comfortable & holds me tightly in place, preventing lateral body movement. However I find my helmet how pushes my head/neck forward uncomfortably. For driving last year I used a piece of 1/2" foam behind my back to allow more space behind my head. Once the thermostat is above above 40F° and the road salt is washed away I plan to upgrade with a new SA-spec helmet. Do you think the switch from M to SA helmet will correct the 'back of head' space issue, or are there particular brand/models you have found work well for our cars with regards to head comfort? cheers P.

I think it may have been a modified VW rack&pinion. Have you checked with dick brink? I think he was the main importer back then. If not birkin direct in Eagle will know
-
Kitcat- How much do you think this really affects us? It seems everyone uses one of a small number of tyres (Hoosier, Avon, toyo) that suit our car’s performance needs (vs. having more size options and the same number of performance options)

Must be a se7en thing. I occasionally visit LocostUSA and find them similarly civilized as USA7s

Happy New Year to you Dr. & everyone here. It always brightens my day to see your beautiful pictures. PS. The admins are working to incorporate the old Yahoo BirkinOwners archive into this forum's revision this year.

Autumn colors in Japan around Mount Fuji on Birkin 7 (1993)
wemtd replied to drhasegawa's topic in General Sevens Discussion
FWIW I’ve received these updates from Dr Hasegawa for years and they are amazing! He has also driven an impressive mileage in his Birkin. -
Oh no! Gory post Morten photo? After a stone incident at our annual track day TBox had his replaced with a sheet of laminated glass. He brought the windscreen frame as a template and to reassemble. I think it worked great, you just loose the embedded defroster.

Many thanks to everyone who helped with advice. Croc's MOCAL recommendation was spot on. Their UK catalog must be at least 50% educational and very informative. After many delays I finally got it installed today! I choose a Setrab 13row cooler with -08AN fittings & their thermostatic sandwich plate. My searches found this and the mishimoto are the thinnest available. The oil ports from the duratec block into the filter adapter measure ~15mm ID. Which should mate adequately with -08 (~12.7mm ID). It came together nicely with 45° M22 to -08 gasketed swivel hose ends into the sandwich plate and corresponding 90° M22 to -08 AN swivel hose ends. This eliminated the need for an M22 to AN fitting before the AN hose end. My main delay was the mount position. The radiator mounting tabs did not allow space for the 90° hose ends to pass beneath the radiator, and they were not perpendicular to the radiator. A little repositioning of these tabs (lower and perpendicular to the radiator): I'm now in business. This afternoon the engine oil warmed up to 180° and held there. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to refilled and bled the coolant and get out on the highway for a proper test. oh.. and if everything is copacetic I'm already thinking of adding a top attachment for the cooler. p.
