  1. That's it Racelabz.com. He will build you anything you want, amazing building skills. Graham
  2. We have a great fairly local cage builder that I used for my cage, he is on the site Dan Lipperini in Exeter PA. I will try and find his web site, it alluding me at the moment. Graham
  3. Tough to tell the color from you pictures but all pistons will have some carbon coating, a clean Aluminum piston crown is a sign of a coolant leak.
  4. Strange statement, hp and torque always cross at 5252 rpm. If not you have a bugus dyno run. Graham
  5. Sorry is this has been posted before, a search could not find anything, cut and paste from the Locost list. https://heeltread.com/collections/british-charm/products/seven-socks Graham * Socks sold fully assembled, not available as a kit.
  6. Carl is correct, reading plugs is a black art. Reading old plugs is just about impossible. Drag racing is just about the only sport were plug reading is used, but they shut the engine down at full throttle and coast into the return lane. You can tell general engine health, burning oil, coolant that sort of thing. If you want to know how your jetting is install a wide band sensor, you will learn more in one drive around the block that you will spending weeks swapping jets. Gunson (the ColourTune people) used to make a self contained unit that you could plug into a power source and put a flexy hose in the exhaust pipe, worked great. Graham
  7. Thanks for the video, that helped a lot. Very cool car. Graham
  8. Feynmanfan, I have been looking at the Aluma for a while, I would be very interested in your mods. Graham
  9. I used these, been on the car for years, many wheel changes without an issue, hold torque great. https://www.advanced-autosports.com/search?q=Studs Graham
  10. I also recommend you try the Locost list, There is an amazing amount of knowledge on that site. But you might want to talk to Jack at Kinetic Vehicles. https://www.kineticvehicles.com/windshield.html Graham
  11. I wish I had a welder at his age:) http://locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=20781&sid=051bb13b493abf59458728787d461c4e Graham
  12. Found this on the Locost list. http://locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=20781&sid=dbe5edc710d36124ab087bc79f946a6d Graham
  13. If you have an OBD 2 port you can data log, I use a OBDLink MX+ Blue tooth adapter. It syncs up well with the https://racechrono.com/ app I use. You will be able to log all the OBD parameters, not everything, but a lot of interesting stuff. Engine temp, throttle position, coolant temp, IAT, speed... Graham
  14. That looks like a great package, a lot more than a MegaJolt style setup that really only replaces your distributor. This setup is a full engine management setup just without the fuel injection. Anything you can to to get rid of a distributor is good. Graham
  15. I ran a MegaJolt on a V8. Simple setup using loss spark Ford EDIS coils. Simple to wire and setup, and removed the distributor. A win win. Graham
  16. I have never heard of Methanol/water injection as a strategy to lower engine temp. Its goal is to reduce inlet air temp, boost octane and reduce detonation. Often used as a replacement for a an intercooler. For more information https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_injection_(engine) Graham
  17. It's going to be an expensive exercise for a situation you think might happen. You will need a fully E85 compatible fuel system, a E85 programmable ECU, most people use the GM Flex Fuel sensor. Then your going to have to have it custom mapped for both regular gas and E85. https://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-13577429-Original-Equipment-Sensor/dp/B01GQR9C5O Graham
  18. Beware E85 is not available everywhere, Here in MD I have never seen an E85 pump. I was at a track day I think VIR and the guys had to bring all there gas with them for the entire weekend. Maryland only has 7 station, VA only has one in the state! Graham
  19. AAA worked for me before I had a trailer. Broke a lower control arm. AAA flat bed towed it home. I have looked at the Aluma trailers even looked into local dealers. If you line that with a Serpent Express cover you might have the perfect solution http://serpentexpress.com/ Graham
  20. Article in Forbes https://www.forbes.com/sites/peterlyon/2021/04/07/british-icon-caterham-cars-acquired-by-japanese-automotive-group/?sh=7dd288557783 "And what lies ahead for VT Holdings? While the Japan-based firm will now manage the day to day running of the business as Caterham cars are designed and built in the U.K., we can expect to see electric versions joining the lineup by 2030." Graham
  21. Spray brake cleaner around the carbs/manifold, if the engine revs change you have vacuum leak Graham
  22. Is the air filter setup stock? For that matter is the exhaust stock? Graham
  23. as I think someone said of your fuel pump was under peforming your run would lean out during the run, your afr stays pretty stable, so I think your just running lean. A plug chop with old already colored old plugs may not tell you what you want to know. Graham
  24. A miata is a computer controlled engine, so yes you will need the ecu and necessary electronics. If you swap to a megasquirt you can delete the mass airflow sensor. Graham
