Is it just me or does anyone else have problems with the link above? I get to the home page but there are no links to anything besides the hotel...which I booked back last fall. I am using an S4 Samsung Galaxy.

You might want to consider plug and socket firewall connectors, would save a lot of hassle when servicing down the road.

You could always send out some "promotional" freebies to your friends here, then you aren't selling them. I'll send you my US shipping address so Canada Customs don't get involved......

Road America for the Hawk this summer. The boys ran shifters there too now that I think about it. Looking back over the list I am shocked at how many primo places this old guy has been to. Guess I need to thank my sons for my good fortune? Do I qualify for a T shirt?
-
Sorry...fat fingers, small phone keys! I should add that my 2 sons raced shifter karts at most of the listed North American tracks so it was easy to get a lap or 2 in while we were there....one of the perks of spending a not so small fortune as their primary sponsor! Oh, need to add New Hampshire International Speedway, oval and road course, Oswego Speedway, Concord International Speedway. Heading to

Meyers Tow'd vs Lotus 7-1967??
Paul Hill replied to lotusman1951's topic in General Sevens Discussion
Have always had a hankering for a tow'd for behind our motorhome. Not too common in the for sale lists, and those that have them know what they are worth, so haven't found one cheap enough to be in our garage....yet -
Andy You might consider.... The people offering up that forecast are the only group I know of that get paid even though they seem to be wrong 90% of the time! Presently 3" of nice new white stuff on the ground, falling hard enough to not be able to see across the road here... Spring huh?
-
Thanks guys, you make the 6" of snow in tonight/tomorrow's forecast so much more bearable, especially after sunny and 40 this afternoon. Sure has me looking forward to our upcoming trip to southern California! Our long range forecast is talking temps well below normal for at least another month. Sounds like it might be a short summer....
-
Spring huh? Woke to 2" more of snow this morning... Yippee Skippy

Thanks for beating me to the question Bill! I'm sure you and I are not the only ones who might be in the market for this simple solution.

Even after the seemingly skyhigh snowbanks finally disappear after our worst winter in many decades...which could be June at the rate we're going...there are truly massive amounts of road salt residue left on the roads and shoulders that will need a lot of rain to wash away. Am afraid the blats will have to wait, will be quite a while til conditions are good enough around here!

Haha ! they are hitting 235 now - no turbo

Mike I think you're right on a number of fronts with your comments.... 20 years ago we would watch what was then the Twin 125 qualifiers at Daytona from the backstretch bleachers (no pit stops for those events then) then head for home to watch the 500 on tv 3 days later. And this from a guy who had prime front stretch seats for almost 20 yrs. The costs even then had gotten out of hand, and that situation certainly hasn't improved. Add in the over-manipulation by Nascar, the cookie cutter cars, the latest version of "the Chase", and I hardly bother to even watch on tv. The product is almost unrecognisable as racing, more like tv wrestling. The GTR is raising the bar, esp in the right hands. Long story but my son Travis drove one in the Optima Street Car Challenge after the SEMA show in 2012, finished 5th overall, 3rd in 2 of the 5 components of the event with an almost stock appearing car. Made a lot of the V8 crowd do a doubletake. Tuners like Switzer (they had played with turbos and mapping) are killing what we historically thought were musclecars. It's a new era...us old guys have to reconsider what defines performance. -
Still stuck with even.more snow here in eastern Ontario.... Got another 12" yesterday and overnight. At this rate we'll still have snowbanks in June! Most snow, coldest winter in 25 yrs here.

Not quite on topic but following the link and reading the 35 pages I have to ask... What became of Jackal's project? Was like reading through a great book only to find that some a**hole ripped out the last chapter!

So How Old Is The Average 7 Addict
Paul Hill replied to BusaLoco's topic in General Sevens Discussion
At the risk of being a sh!t disturber am curious why both the previously pictured Stalkers are wearing what appear to be Lotus emblems on their noses.... -
Could not make the Grainger link work... Alan: Picture a nylon tie down strap that cradles the top of the tire. You usually see them used on the 2 wheel dollies carrying the front wheels of a car towed behind a motorhome. No, they don't assist with winching your car onto a flat deck but are a great choice to secure it once it is loaded. I use 2 on opposite corners. I welded tow eyes front and rear on my Europa, will do the same on our Caterham when I finally get started on the project.
-
In my opinion you can't beat ratchet strap wheel baskets. No stress or strain on any components.

I have Tony's book....if my son ever brings it back! Actually have quite a number of 7 oriented volumes but Tony's is definitely the bible.
-
That may be the case, been playing phone tag with Terry for 2 days. Am still not sure the '90s manuals that have been offered to him are close enough to our '75/76 model. Anything is more than presently in hand though so am not going to complain.

Having been in the mobile home and rv business most of my life (61 now) I have a "bit" of towing experience. Only a fool tows without brakes. And even then, periodic checks and maintenance of both the trailer and tow vehicle's brakes is an absolute must! Let me give you a great example... For 10+yrs we used a Ford E350 former small wheelchair bus converted to a motorhome to tow our 32' 10,000 lb (loaded) trailer full of my 2 sons' shifter kart equipment. We put over 300,000 miles on the 2 rigs and brakes were a constant maintenance item. But even as careful as we were we got caught out occasionally, the rear brakes on the Ford being less than maintenance free. On the last leg home from a cross Canada trip from Vancouver I noticed the brakes being noticeably less than they had been. On checking at home there was almost nothing left inside the rear drums. Shoes, adjusters, springs, all ground up and gone. And they were new and perfectly adjusted before we left on that 8000 mile trip, just so we would not have any trouble on the road. Good thing it didn't happen.in the rockies! The point here is that the brakes on both trailer axles were doing the bulk of the braking. The gradual deterioration of the truck brakes was almost unnoticeable. Moral of the story: maintenance maintenance maintenance.........
-
I checked that one out but no cigar: de dion rear, much much later model year. Quite a few suspension/brake differences (4 wheel discs), wiring diagrams, interior. Enough obvious differences to leave me dubious of its value. Hence my post looking for an older version.
-
Looking for an assembly manual (or readable copy) for a mid 70s short cockpit Caterham. Caterham's archives could offer nothing.
-
You may want to check with your own state, region, province but here in Ontario any trailer with a loaded weight capacity of over 2000 lb MUST have an automatic brake system, as well as a breakaway system. From my own experience I know that more and more flat towed cars and car dollies like you often see behind motorhomes require automatic braking systems as well. While any of the above scenarios will certainly add to the price and comlexity it is tough to argue with their merit.
