  1. I've had an EVO2 for almost 2 years. I got the specific charger but haven't needed to use it yet. The battery is temperature sensitive, ie it needs to be warm or warmed up to have good CCA. When it is below 45 - 50F, it's output is low. You will get some internal heating by putting a load on it. Once you do that, you will get enough CCA to start. Since I don't do cold weather driving, no problem.
  2. Video? I want to see this. :willy_nilly:
  3. Which Donald Trump is being discussed. He seems to say one thing to get some more attention, the when challenged he waffles. I guess that makes him a politician. That said, he's not my choice. I'm currently reading The Narcissist next door (by Jeffrey Kluger) and the first sentence in it is this "It can't be easy to wake up every day and discover that you're still Donald Trump"
  4. No question there is more than one way to get a clean start after a long period in storage. For my chainsaw and string trimmer, I drain the unused fuel back into the fuel jug and run the motor dry. I do this more to not have alcohol present to destroy gaskets and such. For larger motors I use fuel conditioner to combat the ill effects of alcohol. As for personal use, that's another story....
  5. Is there any particular brand that you have found that works well?
  6. Since most of us do not drive our 7 every day, what fuel additive(s) do you use to keep your fuel systems from getting gummed up? My case is related to Webbers, but I'm sure FI can be subject to gunk issues. Lately I've been using Stabil 360. I was talking with my brother today and he uses Seafoam in his m'cycles. What have you had luck with? Dang! I wish I had spelled "additives" correctly when I started the thread!
  7. Now that winter is leaving us (some sooner than others) what upgrades have you been up to?
  8. "Good to see the Robin Hood is moving down into a price band where it can be considered seriously for sale. Or is this a separate sister car to the earlier one advertised? I think it may be a new one with those wheels as the sister had the panasports? Coffee Break - can you clear up my confusion? The engine is the 1.6L Pinto. Sold in the UK in the Escort, Cortina and the Capri but not the US. There were two - one was 1593cc and the other was 1598cc. Power ranged from 60hp to a scorching 75hp. Not sure which one is this one in the Robin Hood. Not particularly exciting but good solid engines." I looked at the cars a few weeks ago. Both motors looked to be alike with the exception of carbs installed. The one in the listing has a DGAV type Weber and the other has a Sidedraft Weber. Also, the front end suspensions are different. The one for sale looks like something out of a sedan, the other one looks similar to Lotus/Caterham but not an exact copy. Clear as mud, right?
  9. If you are seriously interested I'm close by and can check it out for you. send PM
  10. I found battery lug covers at NAPA.
  11. I would guess they did a SV, Mike may not fit into a smaller chassis and Ed may be too tall. :jester:
  12. I have a Caterham RHD with a crossflow and the twin side draft Webers poke out the right hand side. I'm guessing something is not original. Some where along the way, someone may have changed a non-crossflow head or something. As old as the car is, there could have been many alteration to the original configuration. Are there any pictures available?
  13. A real pain on the ice. There may be some of that happening in Georgia later today.:willy_nilly:
  14. I'm wondering what is the story on the missing cycle fenders and the nose color vs the rear wings.
  15. Search YouTube, there are some examples there. :smilielol5:
  16. I removed the alternator and took it to SHR Auto Electric (Sleepy Hollow Rebuilders). It was determined that the regulator was the problem. It turned out that the alternator is a relatively common item and they had a new unit on the shelf. It's installed and no red light and 13.8v at idle.
  17. It sounds like a single point problem/failure. An intermittent open circuit can be a pain to find. :banghead:
  18. It may be an unrelated issue; fuel pressure?
  19. The car has a gauge and it is indicating good pressure. Thanks for the descripting of the alternator system.
