  1. A picture is worth a thousand words, but a picture and ten words is worth a million. I'd like to see some words to go with this picture. "Cats mating in the wild get a bit rough."
  2. I had both those Dunpops and Falken Azenis (sp?) 650K (?) on a Miata for autocross and street. Felt and scored the same. Falkens cheaper.
  3. Lotus VI prototype: https://www.handh.co.uk/auction/lot/lot-1952-lotus-mark-vi-prototype/?lot=58835&so=2&st=&sto=0&au=531&ef=&et=&ic=False&sd=0&pp=48&pn=1&g=1
  4. OK, it's not a Seven. But as an electric sport car, looks to be great. https://goodwoodnews.com/1QLU-8GBMX-6UCMB1-5ASK6M-1/c.aspx
  5. I'm just more of a Dia de los Muertos guy. Much better holiday.
  6. That is SO wrong. But funny.
  7. As if we were not jealous enough. End with: "Off to Goodwood next week."
  8. Looks like some kind of Halloween photo. Eaten alive!
  9. Great run I'll bet. Cool photos. BTW, "Ford GT", not GT40.
  10. A turn down will spread the sound a bit. I would guess that i you route to the rear, you would just add another silencer element there.
  11. Congratulations. That will be well worth the work.
  12. Wonderful write-ups with visuals. Thanks. Love the red paint accents on the red P. What a German might call a badge of honor.
  13. I got a bicycle flag and fiberglass mast. Flag disintegrated in a day. I've tried cloth flags. A heavy good quality one made a racket, but a light duty one is quiet and has been OK for a few years.
  14. Better get used to all that grinning. Builds facial muscles and prevents wrinkles. Great job on the build.
  15. I get notifications on my gmail.
  16. To get it ready in 2 weeks, you'll need one of those TV show shops.
  17. Congratulations! You've got to be feeling good about that start up.
  18. Auction Seven: https://cars.bonhams.com/auction/28012/lot/32/1963-lotus-super-seven-1500-series-2-chassis-no-sb-1732-engine-no-116e-134567/
  19. You rotten bastards! Just when I thought I might not spend money on my car, you deviously lead me to check a web site that wants my money. Right at the top, a compact air conditioning system. 500 Pounds and I have a great mechanic that knows his way around my car and AC. I could actually use my 7 next summer. I would have to put the windshield back on, and maybe a bikini top, easy enough. I once drove a cobra replica (Aurora) in our summer heat and with the flat screen the AC was perfectly adequate. This summer has been intolerable, but now I'm thinking.
  20. Make sure that little girl learns to drive at twelve. Best age to begin. Oddly enough, just today I was discussing hearing loss with a friend - what noises were "worth it" or not. Sport cars YES! Move the "no muffler" to the plus column. (just kidding, guys. don't flame me)
  21. New on Hemmings: https://www.hemmings.com/auction/1962-lotus-7-holland-mi-252131?utm_medium=email&utm_source=auctions_newsletter
  22. In the early days of no-lead, there were little attachments to make old lead nozzles fit the no-lead traps. Not a funnel, just an adapter maybe2-3 inches long.
  23. Kieft is an interesting one. Is the sport/racer an OSCA they ran? Did they do any Formula Juniors?
  24. Another huge factor is that so many shops will only hired "qualified" techs. There is no apprentice, journeyman, master pathway. And most of the "qualified" people I would not call good journeymen. Just a handful of true masters left. I feel very fortunate to have been using one for over 30 years. At the last place I worked, the shop's pathway had stopped 20+ years ago. All the supervisors and good mechanics there had started when they had an apprentice program. American business is short sighted about the future in many areas. Only this quarter matters. Maybe we do need a poli/gripe thread. Sound like a bunch of ole grouches.
