  3. I found it on the Caterham and 7 Owners in USA and Canada Facebook page.
  4. Just received so big news sent to my dealership by Caterham: Dear Partner, I have some exciting news regarding the business…… This is the press release below that will be issued next week, unfortunately the news appears to have broken prior to the embargo and so we are now forced to communicate this news today and by email, which is not what we had planned to do as we had hoped to tell you this news via a video call early next week. “On Thursday 31st March 2021 Caterham Cars was acquired by Japan-headquartered automotive group, VT Holdings, from businessmen, Tony Fernandes and Kamarudin Meranun. The company assumes custodianship of the legendary British sportscar brand having been the Japanese importer for the Seven since 2009, where it currently sells over 120 cars annually. As one of Japan’s largest retailer groups with over 200 showrooms nationwide and investments in UK, Spain, Thailand and South Africa, VT Holdings is also the importer for a collection of two and four wheeled brands including Royal Enfield and Lotus in its home-market. Motorsport, and the global track-day communities, have always played a central role in Caterham’s commercial success. The brand now joins a group led by Chief Executive, Kazuho Takahashi, who shares the same passions, having raced competitively in JGTC, Super GT and Super Taikyu championships for the past 20 years. Commenting on the acquisition, Takahashi-san, said: “VT Holdings is proud to welcome Caterham to the group. We have not only purchased a globally renowned performance car manufacturer but become custodians of a motoring legend. We will protect and develop the Seven to meet the legislative challenges that lie ahead.” Graham Macdonald, chief executive of Caterham Cars, added: “Takahashi-san and the team truly understand the DNA of the Caterham brand, our heritage, our customers and our passions. As a team, we’re all excited about starting to write the next chapter for this very special brand.” Caterham Cars sell to 20 markets globally with exports accounting for 60% of its annual new car sales volume”. I am sure there will be lots of questions, but please know that the business and brand is safe moving forwards into the future. Please rest assured this only strengthens the business’s commitment to the current product range and gives us complete confidence in our shared future. We are excited to work with our new shareholders as they are as passionate about the Seven as we are! Please feel free to contact me with any questions that you may have. 5. Built the car in 1985. Drove it a lot and took some long trips. Kids came along, then kids in college and the Elise. Sold it in 2013. While it was away for seven years, less than 1000 miles were added. Because it is once again the right car, it’s back home with 23009 miles. Whatever miles are added this year will help motivate me to complete the updates.
  6. We had a V70 wagon from 2005 to 2018 and it was an excellent car. Not sporting, but comfortable, reliable and durable. It was amazing what would easily fit in the back that car!
  7. 2015 Mini JCW Hardtop, with a 6-speed manual. It’s a reasonably fun car to drive, particularly after upgrading to the JCW Pro suspension. It’s been reliable ( it should be) as compared to my first Mini. Overall, not really driving much of anywhere since work from home started last year. That has postponed the purchase of new tires!
  8. Ooh, I see he makes a 23B kit too. That would be fun!
  9. That’s great! Welcome and thank you for posting the video!
  10. Thank you. Appreciate the time and effort.
  11. Merry Christmas! My wife said “Buy the lift!”
  12. In the BaT for sale advertisement, he states that he is moving and cannot take the car with him.
  13. Yes, I did! It took some coaxing from my friends and approval from my very understanding wife before I made the call to Rick. Glad to have it back in the garage. Looking forward to planning and executing the various tasks and of course, getting back behind the wheel!
  14. I went through my toolbox and found this. Is this what you need? I never used it with my Caterham.
  15. I like these better. Don’t have to deal with aging rubber.
  16. I’ve had no reply to my questions. That was their first and only post, so who knows?
  17. Hello, Is that blue Elite book by Dennis Ortenburger, “Lotus Elite: Racing Car for The Road”? More details about the “Lotus World” book please. You can PM me. Thanks, Jon
  18. Hi Craig. I sent you an email about some of the books that I would like to purchase. Thanks! Edit (purchased these): Team Lotus, My View From the Pit Wall by Peter Warr Lotus 49 The Story of a Legend by Michael Oliver Jim Clark, Racing Legend by Eric Dymock Jim Clark and his Most Successful Lotus by Eoin Young
  19. Good to see your here after your post on LotusTalk. There are many knowledgeable and helpful people here. Good luck finding the right car for you!
  20. I preferred the steel spring isolators. Less compression set and no heat aging, unlike rubber.
  21. Thanks for video #2! I love Watkins Glen....and Sevens.
  22. Great video, thanks for posting it! How is it being grouped with cars that are so much bigger than the Seven?
  23. Growing up, we used to watch all the Brit TV show. The Prisoner was the first I saw a Seven. Must have sparked something in me that eventually led to me owning one.
