  1. So sorry to hear the news of Scott's passing. I only got to meet Scott a few times but always remembered him as a good guy and an enthusiastic Seven owner. Here's one of my favorite photos from a Carlisle event back in 2008 when we all went out to eat after the car show. RIP Scott....
  2. The kit is complete and waiting to be crated/shipped to the US. Exciting times!
  3. Car looks great and a nice adventure, congrats rnr!
  4. Al - Glad to see you're still out there and enjoying your Seven. Car looks great!
  5. Actually, I think it has: https://www.amazon.com/Road-Trip-Chasing-skies-forever/dp/0615771971 It's a good read!
  6. Thanks everyone for your input. Still not sure what direction I'm going to go but if I had a bigger garage I think I'd try to keep it.
  7. I was wondering if any forum members have had an experience selling a car on BAT and whether it was positive or not. It looks like the basic listing fee is $99 for the seller. I have a RHD S2 vintage racecar replica roller built by Automotive Restorations that I'm thinking of selling because I have a new Caterham kit that should be here later this summer. I thought this car might be a good candidate because you really would need to "Bring a Trailer". I'll probably just list it here but thought it might be interesting to see how it would do on BAT. Any comments? TIA
  8. I've searched for Seven parts just about everywhere over the years and have never seen the tripod mounts listed for sale. I think they'd have to be fabricated unless someone else knows a source?
  9. 1998 Caterham, Crossflow, 4-speed, on BAT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1998-caterham-super-seven-2/
  10. Nice looking Seven! That same car was for sale a while back from Kim Baker's place in Mass: https://vintageracecarsales.com/portfolio-view/1966-lotus-super-seven/
  11. Glad you're enjoying the ride! As far as the clunk, you might want to check out the rear differential too. I did a quick google search: https://www.google.com/search?q=caterham+differential+noise&rlz=1C1GCEA_enUS838US838&oq=caterham+differential+noise&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i64.6050j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&safe=active&ssui=on I'm assuming you have the BMW diff?
  12. Kenny - Glad to see you got your car registered and on the road. I'm sure there's always minor adjustments to be made on a low-volume hand built car, but I'm sure it's disappointing if the damage is noticeable. When I built my Birkin there were always little things that required attention that you'd never see in a normal production vehicle. Thanks for the update, it'll be one more thing for me to check out when I start my build! How do you like driving it so far?
  13. Hope you guys have a great time!! :auto:
  14. Mike - I'm not positive but it looks like he's got some clear safety glasses on. Nice looking Caterham, looks like you're having fun!
  15. Looks beautiful, and those are great wheels! I loved the RPF1s I had on my old Birkin.
  16. Congrats, beautiful looking Super Seven! The Spitfire had Girling Type 12 calipers on the early cars and Type 14 calipers on the later cars with a bigger rotor to go with it. Maybe measure your rotors and rear drums, and see if there's a marking on the calipers and go from there. You could also measure the bore of the wheel cylinders to see what repair kits could be used.
  17. I think the thread size is 9/16 X 27 TPI or something close to that, so you'll probably have to get it from Moss or another vendor.
  18. Just for reference, I had a 2.0 Zetec in my Birkin with Jenvey ITB's, Emerald ECU, and stock cams and my MPG was between 21-22 and 28-29 depending on conditions and how enthusiastic I was. Your MPG is really low and I agree with what's been said before. I'm interested to see what you find.
  19. Congrats Kenny, exciting times ahead!! :auto:
  20. Glad they were able to help.
  21. Did you try calling them? They might not have it listed. You can also check with Pierce Manifolds. They're a Weber dealer but I would think the hardware would be very similar. Here: https://www.piercemanifolds.com/default.asp
  22. They do, I think he's just referencing his license plate and the relationship to the TV series. He does state that it's a "Classic" model. A real Prisoner edition should look like this.
  23. I should still have some photos at home of a Birkin chassis with an S2000 motor installed. I don't know if the gentleman ever finished the build, but he was doing a really good job on it. I know it was really tight. I'll check when I get home and post photos if I still have them.
