I wouldn't trust linearity of the gauge. Also, given that your gauge would read full with your prior filling technique, it suggests that you were probably getting the tank mostly full, unless your gauge is way off. I say drive it till you run out of gas (if practical), then you will actually know how much gas you've used to get to that point.

So have you ever driven it from "fully full" until empty, or tested the range since a true fill up?

Something's not adding up. Are you saying from running out of gas to filling the tank until overflowing that it took 5 gallons? Or that the tank only ever took 5 gallons on initial fill after build?

I went to los Gatos dmv even though it's not that close to me based on recommendations that they were more familiar with sb100 than some other locations.

Just replaced my tank and curious if anyone has a use for this. The baffle is loose in the bottom of the tank. Ran a whole track season like this, but it fuel starves in long left hand corners on track. Fine for street use, or if you have welding skills, you could repair it. Just pay shipping, or come pick it up.

The footwell tank can be bought but would require other engineering/plumbing solutions that are already solved by using the Caterham setup. Assuming it fits in his imperial chassis, everything would be plug and play. Maybe I'm just lazy and I hate modifying stuff. But it seems any improvised solution can trigger a set of unintended consequences and further troubleshooting.

Why would you want to reinvent the wheel and engineer/fabricate a new solution to a problem that already has an off the shelf and well tested solution?

Nice work, newer blogs like this are helpful to future builders, as Caterham makes lots of small little changes over time so the older blogs can have some confusing/incorrect bits in them. PS I saw a mention of painted bolt heads to ensure they are tight on future checks. Many bolts go through powder coated parts and you can NOT trust a painted line. Just because the bolt hasn't backed out doesn't mean it isn't loose. Prime candidate bolts for this issue are the engine mounts into the block. There are others as well. Bottom line is, on a 7 you need to do proper spanner checks regularly.

I may be mistaken, but I thought the point of a spherical bushing swap was to create MORE flexibility/range of motion at that joint, not less.

Here is a vid of my car on track (let a youtuber review it). Very representative of what the car sounds like when driving. Unless there's a wall to my right, i don't really hear the exhaust at all, it's all intake honk. The microphone is on the center console fwiw.

Yep, if you lose preload, I would expect things to go silent.

Wow just watched and there is no way that is a 200hp car if my car has 200hp. That looked closer to 100HP tbh unless something is distorting my perception or the gears are crazy long, AND that minivan had it PINNED the whole time.

Having had a supercharged Exige (S240), and now a 420R with roller barrels, the 7 is much quicker. Much more immediate response and pulls harder. 620 is bananas for sure.

Will be interesting to see the pace of the ZZR compound they've settled on.

If you don't track consider the quaife atb. Zero maintenance/wear.
