They don’t take the funds.  You have to make arrangements with a third party and get certification you have done so.

If I ever have something for sale, I would have to exclude the US.  Just too much hassle.  I’m in other groups as well and have sent free parts and loaned tools all over the world, including the US.  This will make that a nightmare as well.

I’m neither right-wing or left but this is just stupid.  In Canada, we pay taxes and (applicable) duties on everything we import.  Major international suppliers sometimes do have special arrangements with customs to pre-pay to facilitate express deliveries but most suppliers and sellers don’t and it processed and assessed in country.  That’s the way it should be.

It’s your country.  Good luck.

At a risk of taking this into political spectrum beyond the subject inherently being so, I'd like to state that I do not like to be called a "fool" for being a critic of this tariff game.

Not sure who called you a fool - cannot see that post to quote in my signature?  Can you point me to it please?

Putting that aside, let's keep name calling related to politics out of USA7s please.  This tariff policy is just ridiculous right now but there is no point arguing with me since I am always right.

It was a geopolitical comment relevant to the current administration blanket calling everybody fools for questioning tariffs efficiency. Nobody on the site.

The economic theory that dates back to a period of the gold standard of currency that advocated for high tariffs. When the dollar was pegged to gold large trade imbalances could threaten the dollar if the USA guaranteed to exchange dollars for gold.    There is an economist in the white house who wrote his PHD thesis on it. 99% of economist believe it is a tax. When the high tariffs were first introduced the cost was shared by the supply chain. The cost has been shifting to the consumer. Sounds like a tax to me.

I’m going to go ahead and say it. Since I just paid a 25% tariff tax on some Seven parts I claim this right.

Mr. Trump doesn’t want these tariffs for the money.  That’s secondary.    He wants these so he can be the big man.  So that he can waive the threat to change at any moment, switch his whim left and right at you or whoever.

That’s the whole game.  To be a mob boss ruling through fear not a leader of a civilized anything.  Someone deserving a throneroom.

The Supreme Court recognizes this, that no President should ever have these options.  The fact that it is taking a while to rule illustrates their own fear of reprisals.

Politics sucks

It does nothing but divide the people of the country

United we prosper, divided we fail

Ask yourself, who wants to stir the pot and see us fail?

I'll leave it at that.

I searched your source and could not find the word "fool" anywhere in it. Would you elaborate?

Gentlemen,

Let’s not go off the rails here.  This thread is focused on the impact of tariffs on our favorite hobby, which is what we are on this site for, our cars.

We do not need a rant on the governing individuals or parties to achieve that discussion.  There are plenty of other places on the interweb to have that partisan point of view instead of here.

Thank you

mike

To be fair there's a whole politics category on the site, so political discussion is within the scope here.

Whether this thread is proper avenue for feelings on tariffs instead of facts about them, answer is likely no but it's a very thing line to walk.

@MV8it was a tweet today

I  do not believe my post was political.  I will solve the problem by leaving the group.  Cheers

I'm happy to discuss this via PM but let's not take this thread off-topic as well. Just to clarify—moving posts here isn’t meant as a reprimand, but simply to keep each thread focused and in the right forum.
