  1. My vote is for a vacuum leak for the engine problem. Possible around the MAP sensor. Squirt some carb cleaner on suspect places and listen/watch the RPMs. As to the grinding noise, exhaust system?
  2. Help! I'm suffering a joke deficiency.:ack:
  3. So, the 7 is low on fuel. I'll just take a short ride to fill it up. It won't start, crap. Go back in the house any watch the end of the Xfinity race at the Glen. Go back to the shop to check out the 7. Start looking for the charger for the Ballistic battery, can't find it. Well, I guess I should check the battery, +14v. OK Turn the key, the relay goes CLUNCK, hmmm. Connect the volt meter to the little wire that goes to the starter, CLUNCK, +14v, hmmm OH, LOOK, the heavy lead that goes to the starter is dangling unconnected, holy crap! Boy, I was lucky I didn't stop somewhere on my last blat for gas, I would have been S.O.L. Found a nut and LOCK WASHER to reattach the cable. It's off to the gas station.
  4. That's part of the fun in driving a 7. Enjoy :auto:
  5. Since the gauge reads centigrade, might the thread be metric?
  6. If you are doing street only, 2" is good.
  7. When I had the engine and tranny out of the car I did some insulation installation. I applied some thin fiberglass stuff with a reflective outside surface to the footwells and the tunnel about 2 feet in. Over the last weekend I went out for a blat to see if I could feel a difference. It was 92F and midafternoon. I would say it was a great improvement. After about an hour of 2 lane roads of the local horse farm area I noticed my feet were a little warm. This is a great improvement. Last summer I would have had a roasted leg.
  8. - 6pc live axle bushing kit , are these still available?
  9. Try a 7 on for size, you should be good with those shoes. I wear a pair of Puma driving shoes, 12's (USA size) without issue. But as mentioned above, there isn't a dead petal. I don't find it a problem.
  10. Of the clutch explosions, under what conditions have they occurred? Standing start?
  11. As a retrofit, are there Kevlar blankets made to wrap bell housings?
  12. I'm sure mom was around just not the helicopter type. Anyway, they aren't ripe yet.
  13. I've thought about TBI, but that's about it. I'm not sure how much improvement I'd get for the $$$$. You could find a tuner with a chassis dyno to dial-in the TBIs. I found a guy that's good with Webbers. I'd rather drive than tinker.
  14. I'm posting it sooner this year... http://atlantabritishcarfayre.com/ It will be Sept. 12, 2015 in downtown Norcross, GA
  15. An Indian M'cycle shop in the area also sells the Slingshot. They have one on display and have sold 2. The drive-out price is around $31K.
  16. I'm looking to replace the original radiator cap. Here are its' markings LBS 10 G 700 QH and a British lion appear to be the manufactures mark
  17. You've got great taste in cars. It looks just like my 7, red glass and bare alloy. Thou, mine is RHD and only one cam, but that's just getting picky. Now go out and play on the twisties!
  18. Since I have no doors or other side wind deflecting items, I use goggles and a ball cap backwards or a leather WWI helmet. I got the goggles from Pegasus. They do have room for glasses. I also have a set of goggles bought from a Army/Navy store, they are MIL SPEC, the also have room for glasses. Goggles are a must for me, I'm always finding small gravel on the seat.
