  1. Chapman liked lightness but he also considered costliness. It occurs to me the drive train has the heaviest items. Loosing weight in these would have a bigger weight saving. Now if we drivers could loose some mass....
  2. There is an old joke that can poke fun at literal interpretation. A preacher was asked why he would never fly on an airplane. He said " In the good book the Lord said 'I will be with you lo...' " Many ancient cultures relied on oral means to pass down history, and other stories that explained who the were. The books of the Bible were written sometimes hundreds of years after the stories were originally spoken. Many people and purposes over time shaped the book referred to as the Bible. The books contained in it were set somewhere around the 2nd or 3rd century AD or CE. The original text were written in Aramaic or Greek, what we read was translated and interpreted from there. If you are looking for clear direction on how to live, it's clear as mud! I find that KISS works for me.
  3. Biblical context is important. What was spoken thousands of years ago were for a was for the people of that time. Man is no smarter today than in times past. We have advanced technology to expand our knowledge, but our ability to be stupid is also keeping pace.
  4. I used the U-Haul car trailer to pick up my Caterham. I don't recall exactly what I inputted in the on-line reservation. I may have listed something like a MGB. We were using a F150 as the tow.
  5. Next to hydrogen, stupid is the most common element in the universe.
  6. "1) WEAR ALL YOUR BELTS AT ALL TIMES (hopefully you have 5 point harness)" I know the sub-belt is to keep the other 4 properly located. Where would I attach the fifth point? I have a 4 point harness system on my '95 Caterham.
  7. I asked a retired doctor I know about this (ACA). Even though he is "retired" he volunteers at a clinic for the uninsured. He is not a fan of the president or the ACA. So I asked him, what country has a good health care system. In his opinion there isn't one. Any country that has a single system rations health care. There are more MRI machined in New York City than all of Canada. It's something like "democracy is a lousy form of government, but there is nothing better" Nothing simple about it, is there.
  8. Hang in there!
  9. Ya gotta do it once! :driving:
  10. I made a run into North GA today. Went up State Hwy 9 thru Cumming, Dawsonville and Dahlonega. In each town, there were flags and memorials to their hometown service members. It was good to see the honor paid for their service and sacrifice.
  11. I doubt that Caterham actually made the two wheeled items. Other high end auto manufactures names have appeared on non-automotive stuff. My guess is someone has licensed the rights to use the Caterham name and such to sell there over priced products.
  12. I made a stop (Roswell GA) on a blat and a guy was looking at my 7. He said he used to import them and mentioned something about an "American 7". Anyone know any history on these cars? Also, oops. I for got to ask his name.
  13. Try GA Hwy 9 north above Cumming. It was fun earlier this week.
  14. I wonder if the motor has a good blat to it. Turbos tend to muffle.
  15. Randychase, Welcome to the South. You should find many twisty and fun roads to play on. I had a blast (blat) this afternoon running into north GA
  16. That's HOT!
  17. :iagree: :driving:
  18. The pedals are the same, you're just shifting lefthanded. The pattern is the same on my car.

  20. I have a 280mm MOMO wheel that is 2.25" from the closest part of the dash. This gives enough room for my fingers in gloves to clear the toggle switches. I don't have a problem seeing my tach and speedo. If I were a taller person my viewing angle would cutoff my view of the top part of the gages. Any way to sit lower in the car? Also, this may help much since mine is a Caterham.
  21. Inside, top, front or back?
  22. Wheel bearing grease for styling jell? :troll:
