  1. In the past 9 years I have averaged 638 miles/year. Most of the blats have been from point A to point A. It's a 1995 chassis that was assembled in 1998 and as best I can tell I am the 4th owner. I got it with 5364 miles on the ODO which could be equal to how many miles it has been transported between previous owners.
  2. The Outback. It gets the job done with AWD and cargo space. I got it from a GI going offshore and couldn't take it. I had been thinking about finding something AWD. It is safe with massive A & B pillars, massive side mirrors and lots of headrests. Safe, yes, although these items limit outward visibility. Now for outward visibility there's the 7. I've never put the hood on and can't figure out how I could see a traffic light if I had it on considering how short the windscreen is.
  3. But how much HP gets consumed to AC cool the air?
  4. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your and your teams efforts. :flag:
  5. I enjoyed having y'all visit, also enjoyed the beer, and also enjoyed driving a V8!
  6. Look for a threaded metal plug on the side of the main case. Generally this type of plug is about a third the way up from the bottom of the case. Add gear oil until a little runs out the hole. I think this is SOP for most transmissions.
  7. There are several 7's in the Atlanta area, now if you could arrange 6-pack abs...
  8. Looks like there isn't any moderators to pull the plug on the testosterone festival. :cuss: Make one appreciate the admins here.
  9. I'm selective on where I take the 7 out to drive. Two lanes with twists are preferred because the other drivers need to pay some attention to the road.
  10. I'll add my 2 cents worth in the shoe dept. My normal shoe size is 10.5 wide. I have a pair of Puma driving shoes that are sized 12 USA, 11 UK, 44EUR. I would suggest finding a place you can try them on first an eliminate the guess work. I got the Puma's from an out let store, so the selection may have been limited. I wanted to make sure the width was good, a little extra length is not a problem. I don't think I will be needed to substitute for Lewis Hamilton any time soon. :smilielol5:
  11. Having worked corners at Sebring since '86 and now watching from the other side of the fence, I've known that he race there in the good old days when the course was marked by peach baskets.
  12. My son and I went half's on a 1990 Miata that we got from a friend. A former HPDE set-up. It was for him to learn how to drive a stick and he has. All the best.
  13. Original-Owner 1986 DeTomaso Pantera GT5-S It's on BaT and close by, also I needed to get my 7 out for a blat. It sound as good as it looks too!
  14. Any thought of using UVEX or some other plastic. Way back in the 70's a college class mate had a Healy 100/6 and he used some plexiglass to replace the windscreen because glass kept breaking. Either the frame was bent or it was chassis flex that was doing it.
  15. Part of the answer depends on where you wish to drive it, street, auto-X and/or track days. If it is only one of these that makes it easier.
  16. You could look at the price as the "Buy it now" on Ebay............ :auto:
  17. 4x4s and 2x6s plus wood glue might be and alternative. Don't forget 3 1/2" decking screws. FWIW
