  1. Isn't that sacralige to put something other than 'merican iron in a Stalker? :flag:
  2. Or fire up the 3-D printer and set it on "7" :auto:
  3. Current events brought "The Peter Principle" to mind. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_principle (Hmmm where did the hypertext go)
  4. I thought I heard a thumping sound, was that you banging your head against a wall? :banghead:
  5. COVID-19 is giving all those in positions of leadership a livefire test. Those of them that get too much over their skies and avoiding science and common sense can crash and burn many lives. Justification of stupity doesn't work on everyone. As a Georgian, our governer comes to mind. If you can, stay home and stay safe.
  6. In an age when the news is full of stories for people dropping like flys, a box of thawed steaks is waaaaaaaaaaaaay down the list of troubles in life. So it's just a little rant. Stay safe.
  7. Just a little rant... As one that is encouraged to stay at home I had this briliant idea. I ordered frozen steakes from Omaha. They were shipped out on a refrigerated truck and handed off to a local FedEx location. Well, FIVE days later they were delivered pre-thawed, or I should say ruined. I contacted the vendor and they sent a replacement shipment. FedEx got it Friday and it is thawing out somewhere in Norcross Ga. After waiting on Hold for 25 minutes I was able to talk to someone in a call center 12 time zones away they told me it will be delivered Monday. Oh yes, I am in that forward thinking state of Georgia that is "opening up for business". Now I can get a hair cut, massage and a tattoo, God help us all.
  8. Hey xcarguy, is that clams in cream sauce?
  9. You may have better luck getting one fabricated stateside, maybe Craig Chima could help out.
  10. McMaster has a variety of these items to chose from. It may take some poking around to find what may work for you. https://www.mcmaster.com/vibration-damping-sandwich-mounts/general-purpose-vibration-damping-sandwich-mounts-with-studs-6/
  11. I'll give you a +1 on tire choice. I've got a set of these on my 7 and they are completely different experience from the all-season tires that were on the car when I purchased it. It's like going from bowling shoes to track shoes.
  12. The comments are worth reading, especially the last one.
  13. I was able to remove the driveshaft by sliding it to the rear past the straight axle. I had the car on a lift. The oil FILL plug is on the side of the tranny, I wish I had an oil DRAIN plug. That's the box in my car, thou it is self draining a little at a time...
  14. There may be an access panel around the shifter under the carpet. Check the rear u-joint, you may be able to disconnect it from the drive shaft or diff without removing major parts. With the drive shaft disconnected at the rear, the yoke should slide out (and allow oil to drain out). Drain the tranny first.
  15. I added some a few years ago when I had the motor/trans out. It was a nice improvement.
  16. There are some cars for sale that are not in the states. What type of documentation is required to get a car in for road use? Other requirements or bonds?
  17. If you are interested I have a Weber 34DGEC you are welcome to have until you firm up your plans. Send me a PM if you are interested. I have toyed the idea of replacing the Webers with ITB's but wasn't interested in all the fettling John was describing. I decided to leave the car old school.
  18. The carb setup on my xflow is 2 Webers. The cable pulls down and is located by a steel fabricated bracket that attaches to (bridges) the carbs.
  19. Keep mixing the martinis to kill the germs... :smash:
  20. I saw the post last night and already saved the link. Well done Bruce. :hurray:
