I second this. I elevate the car to a comfortable work height. Remove seats, tunnel cover & prop shaft. Remove all ancillaries from the engine and secure the engine with a strap just behind the 4th cylinder spark plug (approx balance point). I like to use a chain hoist to take the weight as the engine and gearbox mounts are unbolted. Wide body should be easier. If you have the narrow body frame be prepared: iirc; left side mount bracket:engine bolts need to be removed. Right side mounting bracket:frame bolt can be removed. Oh, and don't forget to remove your grounding strap, clutch hydraulics or engine sensor connections. I always think I'm ready to start Unbolting and often find one of these still connected during my final check. Once you've done this 3 or 4 times you'll have the procedure down. Ps: gear oil will spill out the tail of your gear box if you tip it down. Have a dolly in place on the floor to receive the engine.

Round trip we did about 150mi. Unfortunately I was having too much fun with the road and scenery and don't remember seeing you xflow7, or taking any pictures. The weather was a little brisk when we started, then overcast all day. I started to feel a few raindrops on my forehead on the last leg of the trip, then a lite drizzle started 1 mile from home. I think this was pretty perfect timing. BlackHole is already working on a better itinerary: we'll be sure to take a few pictures to get some eye candy to share with everyone. cheers p.

Blackhole and I stopped by the Toymaker Cafe next to Lime Rock Park for breakfast and a blat today. Great food (the waffles and corned beef hash are strongly recommended). Oh, and roads were phenomenal too. We even managed to get home before the rain started. p.

Update: Make sure you have a lifetime warranty on your starter! After checking all connections etc. the started still wasn't engaging the flywheel. I'm now back on the road after replacing the starter (2nd time - under warranty by autozone)

Yes, new fiberglass bits are fairly easy to get: just call Tom Carlin. It looks like this could be relatively straightforward to fix and a very inexpensive seven. Maybe a resourceful locost builder is reading? From the birkin listserve: "...(I think early 2000's), Zetec powered... hit a deer and did substantial damage to the left front suspension as well as a bit of body damage to the bonnet and scuttle on the driver's side. Also obvious in the photos is the windshield damage. The driver was OK but unfortunately the same couldn't be said for the deer. "

What similar advice do people have for turnpike south to Millville? (exit3 -> 295 -> 42/55 ->55 south ?) this looks potentially painful. I've always come down the parkway and left by the turnpike so I only know Croc's recommended route when heading north. p.

In years past folks have come to the july 4th event as a good opportunity to see all manner of 7's up close and personal. Mike. I'm all set & registered! Test drive to Vermont and back yesterday went well. I also tested out a pair of Puma's and think they're going to sever me better than my usual swim flippers.

I have several lame reasons, but don't worry I'll be there. Mr speedy is another matter... BlackHole and I are planning to leave a trail of nails all the way from CT. That might slow him down, a little.

I hope this isn't a harbinger of last year where the exception seemed to be those without problems.
