Johnnyb2016
I did reach out to Josh at Rocky Mountain Caterham, just after I joined here as they were not listed on the Caterham website. His response was first class. Answered every question I asked in detail. Welcome and sorry to hear the dealers haven't met your expectations. Not sure what brand you're looking for, but if you are considering a Westfield, contact the US distributor directly. Tom is a good guy and very helpful. if you are looking for a Caterham, Bruce Beachman of Beachman Racing has a very good reputation on the forum, and as per this recent thread, the guys at Rocky Mountain Caterham are back in business. A lot of people on the forum have had very good experiences with them when buying their cars. I've also had positive experiences sourcing parts from them, even though I have a Westfield. Over the years some Caterham dealers have been a little uppity with me regarding Westfield ownership, so they score extra points in my book. If you are looking for something else, it might be worth posting the desired brand(s) to get other recommendations. -John
I B Sevener
Jonny B When I read your post, I was going to respond and say "Apologies on behalf of the Caterham dealers...give me a call and a chance to change your impression. I am glad to hear that Josh was responsive and helpful. I guess I raised him right after all.
Brad B
Hello S7 enthusiasts. I have a 1990 Caterham Super Sprint, live axel, four speed. I bought the car from Vince Hayden Cars in 1997, when they were in Salisbury. I drove in England for several days then Hayden Cars disassembled it, and shipped the parts to me. After assembly at home in Escondido Ca, it was one of the first SB100 cars in California. Today I live on the southern Oregon coast. I’m retired from the medical device business, where I was an engineer and manager. I also enjoy my 67 Elan, and a couple of 50’s Alfa Giuliettas. Cheers, Brad

fatallightning
Hi gents, my name is Mattie. Owned an Elise for 7 years and regretfully lost her driving in the mountains and recently totaled it. Found this forum, and just bought the Dunnell powered Birkin someone had listed here. Always been a fan of less is more and lightweight roadsters, and after the Elise, this is about the only thing lighter around. Also own a couple of motorcycles, KTM 625 Supermoto, Yamaha Bolt C-Spec, street tracker Yamaha TW200, flat track Yamaha SR250, Honda CB360 bobber. fatallightning
Hi! You’re kind of local to me. You ever come up to Albany area? Not often honestly. The KTM I just got came from Saratoga Springs. I do make it up to the Hunter/Catskills often. New York Safety Track is on the to do list this coming year. New York Safety Track is on the to do list this coming year. Did safety track on my bikes many times and loved it. Did it once in the 7 last year and it was... underwhelming. It's worth doing due to how close it is, but it's without a doubt more of a motorcycle track than a car track. I also got a DRZ400SM btw. Unfortunately it's down for a while after timing chain failed.
Croc
Found this forum, and just bought the Dunnell powered Birkin someone had listed here. Welcome to the fun house! If you like bikes then a seven is a natural extension. Will be interested to hear your views of NY Safety Track as I have considered driving there given how close it is for me. Seems ok as a car track if you look at videos of good drivers going fast. Ironically, I am not a fan of the lack of safety on the track - a lot of natural forest with no fence between the driver who ran out of talent and a tree. Since you are closer than most, you get an invite to the annual sevens HPDE at NJMP. 2020 details here: http://www.usa7s.net/vb/showthread.php?12584-Save-the-Date-2020-Annual-Sevens-HPDE-Event-at-NJMP-October-8-10-2020 Photos from 2019 event start here: http://www.usa7s.net/vb/showthread.php?12285-Sevens-Event-NJMP-Drivers-Club-June-28-30-2019-Final-Event-Details/page11 cheers mike

Lots of blind crests, camber changes etc. I do a lot of mountain running, er, did, with the Elise, so tighter and techier is kind of my wheelhouse over fast sweeping tracks. I'll definitely pencil in NJMP this year! I've done both tracks in the Elise, and Thunderbolt on a bike. Maybe a Track Night in America at Thompson or Palmer as well. I did Pocono double infield last season, and it was fun, brutalized on the banking though.
Anker
Hi there! I just (last Friday) bought a 1987 Caterham 1700 Super Sprint from a fellow Porsche Club of America member. He primarily used it for autocrossing, but as he shifted to club racing the Caterham spent more and more time just sitting. I have had my eye on it for a couple of years and I finally, after appropriate spousal approval, was able to get him to sell it to me. It drives well, but does need to have some things fixed and be caught up on maintenance, which to me is great since I enjoy wrenching. So on Tuesday I will pick it up (actually drop off one of our Porsche Boxsters in his barn and drive off with the Caterham, necessitated by not having enough garage space to put 6 cars under roof) and plan to put it up on jack stands and get to work right away so it is ready by the time driving season comes around. Most of the time it will be used for autocross, but I do also plan to take it to events, both Lotus 7 and other, plus a little bit of vintage track. Being 71, I will need to pack in as much enjoyment as I can before my advancing age catches up with me. So see you on the forums and in person! Thanks Anker Berg-Sonne Stow, MA
Vovchandr
Hi there! ... Anker Berg-Sonne Stow, MA Hi and welcome. Glad to have another NE poster on the forum. I think we might have enough in the Tristate/NE area for us to actually have an event to meet up other than NJMP during the year. Croc any thoughts to this? Maybe something in or around the city? Maybe have our own 7's day? :smilielol5:

SENC
Have been lurking as a member for a little while as I was looking at cars, and brought home my first Seven about a week ago. A 1965 Super Seven with Cosworth 1500 engine. It is a largely unmolested RHD that spent most of its life in Australia. Initial work will be suspension and brakes to make it roadworthy - hope to then drive it some to determine what else it needs. Looking forward to meeting other Lotus 7 owners here and comparing notes and learning. Edited January 9, 2020 by SENC
