  1. Great minds must think a like. I did the same on my 310S. Love your Seven Geoff!
  2. New Caterham Zetec on BaT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1999-caterham-super-seven/
  3. I believe a '62 would have had the Wingard tail lights. This is from the Simple Sevens website: http://www.simplesevens.org/forsale/Painter/PainterParts.htm
  4. Pretty nice video on the 170:
  5. Looking really nice Henry!
  6. Congrats on your new Caterham! That looks like Craig C's old car.
  7. Really impressive build, thanks for sharing with us!
  8. Check out online metals in Wallingford. I've bought a lot of aluminum and steel from them: https://www.onlinemetals.com/en/location-and-hours/wallingford
  9. Jay - I made a very simple tie-down when I changed the battery on my Caterham. The battery only weighs 3 lbs so it doesn't require a lot to keep it secure. I have some aluminum and steel in various shapes and lots of different fasteners. I'm sure we could fab something up without much difficulty in case you wanted to make the trip down.
  10. Congrats on the move Seb, the car looks great. I hope you and your family enjoy your new home!
  11. Hettric - Do you have any photos of how your bumper setup mounts to the chassis? I don't think my old Birkin setup will work at all on my Caterham.
  12. At work now, but I can address this issue when I get home tonight. Mine were on a Birkin and definitely not permanent. In fact I used some of the steel from the bumpers for an engine hoist bracket at my new place. The bumpers on Hettric's car are very nicely done! Something I would aim for if I was doing a more permanent setup.
  13. To add additional info to this thread. I temporarily installed a Kirkey racing seat on the drivers side seat tracks and discovered that the seating position was raised up compared to the Caterham S-type seat. This was surprising since the Kirkey seat has almost no padding. Did a little more checking then noticed that the S-type seat bottom drops down between the seat tracks enabling you to sit lower than it first appears. Would have to do some measuring when I get home but I think there's another 3/4" drop from the seat track height so maybe close to 1-1/2" total drop of the 1-3/4" lowered floor. Not sure if any of that makes sense!
  14. I just measured and the floor drop is around 1-3/4" and the seat track height is just under 1". If you didn't mount the seat directly to the floor you would gain a little over 3/4". Hope that helps.
  15. I can confirm what Greg said at 10.5" wide, and can add that the longest side length is 22.5" if that helps.
  16. If you don't get an answer sooner, I can measure mine this afternoon when I get home from work.
  17. Very cool!
  18. This is where I got mine: https://premierpaintguard.com/
  19. I used a Gerbing heated jacket, and the muffler on the drivers side to keep my hands warm, when driving in cold temps. When I sold the Birkin, the new owner wanted the heater hooked up so I made an adapter to mount the heater valve to the Raceline water rail. So, it can be done.
  20. Have you seen the Raceline water rail: https://www.raceline.co.uk/products/part_section.asp?SectionID=54&CategoryID=4 It'd be more expensive and you would still have to get an upper radiator hose to fit, but I had one on my Birkin and it really cleaned up the engine compartment.
  21. Nicolas, Here's a few photos of the seat tracks on my 310 with lowered floors. According to the assy manual, they just bolt thru the floor with large backup washers and nylocs. I have the leather S-type seats like the photo that Mike posted above. They simply bolt to the seat tracks with (6) button head screws and then the seat bottom just sits in place. The seats are really comfortable for me, I'm 5'-10" and around 160-165 lbs.

  23. Good news on the overheating issues Jeff! I did the track day at Palmer this past Sunday. Didn't have the Caterham quite done so had to take the Miata. Palmer was a little more to learn than Canaan but a lot of fun!
  24. Hadn't seen this one before, thanks for sharing!
  25. Looking good Henry!
