    Bleed screw

Does anyone know the size/thread pitch was used for Birkin rear caliper brake bleeder screws from ~2010 ? i know calipers are a lightly machined VW source. When I checked with my parts store guru this afternoon he handed me an ~M10x1 bleeder screw which is much larger than what’s on my car. P.

    Anti-chafe

Previously the foam rubber stripping around my bonnet needed replacing. I tried to replace it with foam weather striping which was too thick and quickly fell apart. This go around I found a thin silicone anti-chafe strip from Aircraft Spruce. So far it’s thin enough not to obstruct fitment of the bonnet and looks high quality. With contact adhesive installation went surprisingly smoothly. Three or four more things to do and I’ll be
  5. Any chance you can get it welded together? My former neighbor fixed my handbrake cable.
  6. 2nd that. I ordered my harness through them. very helpful folks
  7. Simultaneous inertia belt anchor? i think Caterhams from the ?90’s like KitCat’s old car {my first 7 drive} had both 3 & 5 point harnesses installed.
  8. 28500 miles. my fender mount broke when removing this afternoon. I think that was probably over due...

  10. How do i upload documents the Downloads section? I have other files pertaining to T9 gearbox identification & maintenance i'd like to share with everyone?
  11. it's been a few years. When i placed my order with East Coast fiberglass the lady said they couldn't ship (assuming hazardous resins). once she saw my order was just for hardware it was no problem.
  12. Check your footwell wall. my car has a access hole you can insert a driver through to reach the gearbox fill hole
  13. What kind of lift & how much celing clearance do you have?
  14. NeoBear welcome to the insanity.. - install an oil cooler from the start. I drive like a granny and needed to put one in this year; and i'm not in SoCal! - install uprated cams before putting the engine in, it'll save you time - sit & ride in a se7en (somewhat doesn't matter which model) just to get a further feel for the car. There is a good chance someone is within an hour or two drive of you who wouldn't mind showing you their car. - are you planning to assemble yourself or have a pro do it? good luck & enjoy the process!
  15. Please explain as I would expect the alternator's voltage regulator to maintain ~14v output when the engine is running?? {I'm not an engineer} p.
  16. Beautiful clams!!
  17. Croc - given the window so late in the year I’m intrigued with the prospect for shipping. A great deal will change between now and then so I can not commit with certainty
  18. I installed schroth flexi 6- point last year and like it for the driver (me). I appreciate the narrower webbing and adjusters better then my previous RJS harness. However the schroth is more expensive. Unless the belts are very worn it may not be terrible considering allowing the buyer to install what they prefer? {in-date 6point for track use, inertia reel or 4point ASM belts for street driving}? - having said that: I for one appreciate the extra safety & security of a 5 or 6 point harness even if just blatting about on public highways. The Extra time and inconvenience getting into the car is well worth the added safety.
  19. I purchased from east coast fiberglass in The UK
  20. John: Sounds about right for something involving se7ens A day (or two or three) are worth it
  21. The highlight of my Sunday afternoon work break is to see what new cars Croc has found... Since I cannot realistically fathom the work you, Mazda, Croc, et al. are doing... I think the suspense of a 24hr delay is worth it. Repeating what has been said: THANK YOU
  22. Tom what is your experience regarding head positioning? I currently have an M-spec helmet which worked well with the Birkin fiberglass sport seats (with head rest pad removed). Last year I squeezed a Tillett B6 40cm seat into my car. I love this seat as it is comfortable & holds me tightly in place, preventing lateral body movement. However I find my helmet how pushes my head/neck forward uncomfortably. For driving last year I used a piece of 1/2" foam behind my back to allow more space behind my head. Once the thermostat is above above 40F° and the road salt is washed away I plan to upgrade with a new SA-spec helmet. Do you think the switch from M to SA helmet will correct the 'back of head' space issue, or are there particular brand/models you have found work well for our cars with regards to head comfort? cheers P.
  23. I think it may have been a modified VW rack&pinion. Have you checked with dick brink? I think he was the main importer back then. If not birkin direct in Eagle will know
  24. Kitcat- How much do you think this really affects us? It seems everyone uses one of a small number of tyres (Hoosier, Avon, toyo) that suit our car’s performance needs (vs. having more size options and the same number of performance options)
