Barely have to push it in to change gear, it's rattling something awful (sounds like pilot bearing), plus I caught a slipping smell the other day. I should have done it when the engine was out but I figured 38k miles the clutch was OK. I'm reading the K series to the T9 box bearing needs to be a certain size and QED has the right size bearings in. Waiting to see if their clutch kit is all inclusive or I need to do a piecemeal order.

If you are pulling the engine then you should do everything in there at the same time - pilot, slave, clutch, etc.
Saudio
Regarding the belt requirement, I don't think my factory Caterham belts have the date of manufacture on them. The car was built in 2021 so would that be proof that the belts are less than 5 years old? And for that matter, do the Caterham factory belts qualify for the 5 year exclusion? I can add these https://caterhamparts.co.uk/seatbelts-harnesses/1195-crutch-strap-black-plugs-into-4-point-harness.html in time for the event and I'm interested in coming up, but I don't want to spend a grand to replace the belts completely. The standard Caterham belts which are undated do not comply. No date of expiry on the label that is part of the belt then they do not comply. Proof of purchase is not sufficient. The tech inspectors will look for the expiry date label which will also talk to SFI or FIA compliance. This is the required minimum for belts under NJ Chapter 62 which governs safety at NJMP. I'm starting to have deja vu from last year LOL. I remember now that you have already told me this. I'm considering putting in a set of FIA in the drivers seat now, if for no other reason that to make my casual drives safer. I'm 6'2, my 620 has lowered floors. Do you think I could have any trouble with the broomstick test? Thanks for the help Croc! I have the weekend free and I'd love to get to see a gaggle of sevens together. yellowss7
What seats do you have? If you have Tillets and a lowered floor you are probably good. Easy enough to test. Sit in it with your helmet on and see if your head is below the roll bar.
Croc
Effective June 2024, NJMP is mandating all participants at their events must use a recognized head neck restraint system. This includes brands such as HANS, Simpson Hybrid and the like. This policy includes any guest/visitor drivers. This is a change from prior year events. Only 4 people have registered and paid their fee as of June 30, 2024. For those four individuals only, if this NJMP safety policy change impacts you and you think it is cost prohibitive to participate and want a track fee refund then PM me offline. @CBuff@Vovchandr@fastg@yellowss7@John B@FE07@BlakeJ@NSXguy@wemtd@wdb@CarlB@Arahant @DatsunRBZ@RGTorque@11Budlite@FasterThanVov@Marek@S1Steve@Boxologist@Mark IV@bball7754 @TomC@JBH@spindr@SK400@Black Hole@Saudio@Gto7419@sf4018@Dan3030 @BruceBe@simon450@ottocycle@slowdude
slowdude
I've got a Necksgen Rev 2 light. If they have different classes running on the track at separate times (like they do for bike days), someone is more than welcome to use my necksgen. Will just have to spend $50 on the anchors vs $500 on the HANS.
Saudio
I'm afraid that kills it for me. If I was planning on doing a lot of track days it might be justified but not for one event. I wonder if their insurance company is leaning on them?

A local hillclimb club, Pennsylvania Hillclimb Association (PHA), mandated neck restraints for 2024 also.
toldfield
I don't plan on being there, it's a bit of a drive from here, but you are welcome to borrow mine.

That is a very nice offer! @Croc I have my Hans but curious, is NJMP age checking those and requiring re-certs or are they just happy you have one? Edit: Re only 4 people - As far as registry I'm 100% in just pending getting around to it for the track day. Lodging is already booked so I'm committed. I have no information on that. I would look at it another way - the intent is to keep you safe. I think it is good practice to use equipment that is in date and working as designed/intended. For my Lemons racing, NJMP would check Hans cert.
CBuff
I am planning on getting one before Sept. likely go with a Simpson hybrid so I don’t have to worry as much about the interaction with the harness. I wonder if the track shop would ever consider some type of rental situation. But I guess that would open up some form of liability that they likely won’t want to take on. Hate to see the rule deter anyone from joining.
toldfield
Well this conversation encouraged me to get my Nextgen out and look it over. I'll be sending it off this week for recertification.

CBuff
Does the Han’s need sfi 38.1 or fia certification ?
