slowdude
Awesome, I'm still at the shop and need the time to do some more suspension work and verify the head is OK. Looking forward to this!

CarlB
Opps - Thanks Croc. Sould have been paying attention. All set with new dates. Glad it isn't later, we are leaving for Europe the following week.

Black Hole
Unfortunately I am still a no go, Your timing I impeccable. The first weekend was my moms 90th birthday weekend and she will be at our house. The new dates are when we will be in Europe celebrating her birthday! bball7754
Still a definite maybe, but the probability has decreased. Those are the same dates as the last race of the season at the new Ozarks International Raceway. While Ozarks and International are not words normally associated with each other, the track is close (3 hours) and amazing. It’s 2 years old, 19 turns, and more elevation change than you can imagine. One of the most fun tracks I’ve driven. It even has a mini Eau Rouge. In Missouri!! Who’d a thunk it.

Saudio
This date makes it theoretically possible for me to go. I wonder what is involved with adding to my 4 point harness to meet regs? Also, is there a novice group? I have some, but limited track experience. Is there a place on track to park tow vehicles and trailers? Or is the normal protocol to leave the trailer at the overnight lodging?
yellowss7
I believe a 5 or 6 point harness is required. They do sell them at the track and there is a local mechanic that has helped us out with the occasional mechanical issue. There is ample parking in the paddock and we usually all park together. Just bring a folding chair. Croc and I have a couple of tents that we set up. Overnight parking at the track is pretty secure. We all leave our cars and trailers in the paddock overnight. Yes there is a novice group with classroom sessions before each on track run. It’s a great way to learn the track and progressively build up your confidence and speed. It’s a lead follow format with the instructor leading the pace car. Definitely the way to get out o the track is controlled environment. I believe I have an open slot or two on my harness hub so maybe I could upgrade what I have. I'm traveling but as soon as I get home I'll look into what I need to do this and maybe sign up. I wonder what I should expect to pay for track day insurance on a 620? Any recommendations for reliable insurers? Thanks again.

There are others. I believe rule of thumb is 1% of car value per day. So a $60k car would be $600. Just like anything else it's a cost benefit. Would it be worth it if you're afraid of fender bender and minor damage? $1200 probably not. Are you afraid of totalling it? Then sure. Typically there is lots of run off and contact is extremely rare. Spin out in a 620 is likely however for a new driver
yellowss7
Might be cheaper to hire an instructor for a day or two.
